This Autumn, Sakagura, a new international Japanese dining experience and sake bar will launch onto the London restaurant scene in Heddon Street, W1B.

Sakagura will be the first joint venture between the Japan Centre Group, one of the world’s most exclusive sushi experiences,The Araki Michelin Star restaurant with whom a number of seasonal dishes will be created, sake Royal Warrant holders Gekkeikan, Japanese plum wine brand Choya as well as the Toridoll Corporation.

The traditional southern Japanese menu, created by Executive Chef, Kanji Furukawa is based on authentic’Washoku’ which incorporates different elements into each meal with a focus on using seasonal ingredients.

 Diners will see a wide ranging selection of dishes including Hakata yakitori – grilled skewers, hand-made udon and soba noodles and freshly made sushi and sashimi. Wagyu Tataki Ã¢â‚¬â€œ seared wagyu beef with tosasu black truffle oil; Octopus & Mizuna salad with wasabi garlic aioli;Kurobuta Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Berkshire black pork belly with halen mon sea salt; Tiger Ebi Ã¢â‚¬â€œ tiger prawns with moshio salt & lemon; Lobster Tempura;Aburi Salmon Maki Ã¢â‚¬â€œ seared salmon over beetroot, tobiko & spicy mayo and Kamo Nanban Ã¢â‚¬â€œ soba noodles with roasted goosnargh duck served hot or cold.

Set across two floors, either in small dining booths or at the traditional wooden kappo counter to observe the chefs preparing each dish.  Food will be served on handmade ceramic sharing plates for sushi, masu cups for sake and traditional bowls for fresh noodle dishes.

Handpicked by Gekkeikan, one of oldest sake companies in the world, a dedicated sake bar will be serving the best of Japanese sake, alongside seven limited edition sake-based cocktails devised by expert Japanese mixologists.
