From the 7th to 13th September, Soho Kitchen & Bar will be taken over by Little Bao.

Home of the “bao” – a traditional Chinese steamed, filled bun – owner and chef May Chow’s burger-style baos have gained popularity since opening in Hong Kong in 2013. The weeklong takeover will be the London debut for Little Bao.

Chow herself will be in the kitchen creating her signature baos, such as pork belly, Szechuan fried chicken, fish tempura and the vegetarian’Sloppy Chan’ (Taiwanese braised shiitake tempeh, truffle mayo and pickled daikon). Her menu also features sharing plates like sesame caesar, short-rib pan-fried dumplings, brussel sprouts, Little Bao fries, mac & cheese, fried chicken and truffle fries.

For dessert, diners can try some of the ice cream baos, including green tea ice cream with condensed milk and salt ice cream with caramel. The drinks menu features hand picked spirits and artisan beers from around the world, such as Yona Yona Pale Ale (Nagano, Japan), Hitachino Nest White Ale (Ibaraki, Japan) and TsingTao (Qingdao, China).
