About 1 Lombard Street - Restaurant

Banker-turned-restaurateur Soren Jessen opened 1 Lombard Street back in 1998; his latest addition is a new eatery in what was the venue’s flagship dining room. Set behind the Brasserie (with its own entrance from Mansion House Place), 1776 serves a modern British menu with lots of global influences and flavours added to the mix – think signature dishes such as fillet of Black Angus beef with a breadcrumb crust and garlic snails, pan-fried black cod with pak choy and ponzu sauce, and ‘mazara el vallo’ (red prawns with carpaccio of baby squid). There is also a hot carving trolley for seasonal roast meats, plus a selection of dishes prepared at the table, (steak tartare with carasau bread & quails’ eggs, say). The inviting interior references the building’s history, while adding some City comforts and luxurious touches.

1 Lombard, London. - a really top quality meal in comfortable surroundings. attentive but relaxed service. Massive wine list where finding value was a bit of a challenge. Excellent additional touches, muse bouche and coffee trimings added a nice extra. We dined early and were in an empty restaurant for a while but about 6 more tables joined us before we left around 8:30 Great evening.

We had the five-course menu. All the courses were lovely except the braised mullet with pea risotto (the third course), as the mullet was too fishy.

Good value TT deal. Wonderful service. Shame the portions were so disappointingly small.

Very nice food and good service.. Decor was impressive as well! Really enjoyed it!

1 Lombard Street - fantastic restaurant. The 5 course menu was fantastic at a price of £25. Great wine to compliment the dishes, would definitely go there again, and have drinks at the bar.

Took the £25 offer for the umpteenth time at one Lombard Street London. Great food as always . All 5 courses great esp the truffle soup and the roe deer main. Will def return!

Excellent as usual.

Food excellent though service not the quickest. Brasserie better value for quick lunch that restaurant.

Good service, very nice meal

excellent food, lovely service & nice setting. Would definitely recommend.

1 Lombard Street (Restaurant) The restaurant was nearly empty and yet they seated us next to the serving console table which was a bit unsettling especially when they were carving up the steaks for another party of 6. 3 out of the 5 courses were not as per the menu. Risotto was poorly done - it was still a little crunchy. The Veal was fairly tasty and well seasoned but portion was far too small. Would not return even with the offer. There are better dinners elsewhere for the same price.

Absolutely fabulous and the staff were very helpful.

Nice meal overall

beatifully presented food, great service, perfect for a business lunch

Excellent food and with the 5 courses for £25, great value. Extensive wine list, and good service. We visited for dinner, and my one criticism is that it was a little lacking in atmosphere. As a venue for lunch, however, I imagine it would be much more lively.

The tasting menu was absolutely divine. The somelier was extremely helpful and selected a beautiful wine for us to enjoy as well as being very attentive. The surroundings were very plush yet comfortable and I would highly recommend.

A .lovely meal with attentive but not intrusive service. My partner raved about the Haddock starter! All our dishes were fantastic though. A good selection of wines By the carafe, which was great - allowed us to try a White and a red. Would Certainly recommend the Valpolicella Ripasso. Would definitely recommend for a Treat!

We had the Top Table offer at 1 Lombard Street last night. Great food and excellent value. Service was helpful and friendly.

While the food and presentation never seizes to impress at 1 Lombard, the service was rather a let down. In terms of the menu we found plenty of choice, between the delicious roe deer steak with bitter chocolate sauce or the carpaccio of tuna. The waiter however manage to get the orders wrong for every course, forgot to bring our wine and generally did not seem to want to be there that evening. The restaurant atmosphere was rather quiet, perfect for a business dinner and conversation.
