Agua restaurant - indeed the entire Apex Hotel group - is renowned for fine service and attention to detail. And the prix fixe early evening and pre-theatre menus are one of the best deals in town. The chatty international wine list lies mostly in the affordable range and spending a few moments perusing it is a very pleasurable experience.

service and food was excellent but lacked intimacy as tables were not set out in patterns

Agua restaurant Edinburgh: A very enjoyable dining experience the quality of the food and presentation was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and the restaurant manager was very much hands on ensuring everyone enjoyed their meal. My husband and I had a wonderful evening.

Agua Restaurant, Grassmarket, Edinburgh Saturday night. £30 per couple for 3 courses plus small wine. Great service although not a huge selection. Only 3 choices so fine for my group but maybe not for the fussy eaters. All in all a good value meal in lovely restaurant. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Would definately recommend.

Our booking had not come through the system but the staff were more than accommodating. Service was wonderful and the food was excellent. The restaurant was a little quiet..some music might have been a nice touch but other than that it was great value for money.

Agua in Edinburgh served a delightful first course of ham hock and black pudding followed by shin of beef. Excellent service by Robert.

The service and food here was excellent - it deserves to be a lot busier - which would help with the ambience, it was a little flat. To be fair the food was exceptional for the price and the the staff were really helpful - would highly recommend and will be back!

Service was great. Food choice was limited but this helped force me to try something new - and it was dee-li-scious!!

We purchased the 2 courses for £8.50 deal. The food was lovely, definitely value for money!

Excellent meal at Agua Restaurant,Edinburgh. Three courses plus a glass of wine for £30 per couple.Food excellent although limited to 3 choices per course, but would suit most tastes.

Agua Restaurant; Apex International Hotel Grassmarket Edinburgh. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The food was tasty and although the portions were smal, the 2 course for £8.50 was good value for money.

Agua Restaurant, Edinburgh.

Good food, good price, excellent service.

One of the best meals I have ever had. The food was out of this world and the service was fantastic. Biggest and best shock was the price - the two of us had a three course meal for only £15.00 each. It was a total bargain. Can't wait to return.

The food was good and so was the service.

We had lunch at Agua restaurant whilst visiting Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. The service was slow but because we had enough time before seeing a show it was fine. The meals available through the 2 courses lunch are average. We had a creme brulee for dessert which was delicious. That's the only thing that I would recommend.

Agua Restaurant in the Grassmarket, Edinburgh worked out very well! We were a bit surprised to find it was situated in the Apex hotel but I have stayed several times in the hotel so know the food is good. We had a table in the window overlooking Grassmarket - the service was quick and very friendly. We opted for the 2 course special Toptable offer and everything was delicious! (Very contempory with the food served on slate)

great value offer at Agua - limited choice but can't grumble at the price. service and food very good as was the presentation of the dishes - nice ambience - highly recommended as long as this deal is available.

We ate on the early dinner 2 courses for £8.50. This is an excellent deal and the food was really good. The restaurant was quite busy so we were seated in the section at the back with no windows, which is nice but I prefer the tables by the window.

I would recommend the Agua, Edinburgh - the location was great for us visiting for the Festival, it is right on the Grass Market and only a quick walk to the train station. The service was very good and the food delicious. We dined on the 2 courses for £8.50 offer which was a brilliant offer, there is also a 3 courses for £19.99 offer but the full price menu is quite expensive. We ate the fish & chips and the pork belly - both beautiful.

Agua, Edinburgh. Good quality, good food and good service equates to good value for money. Unless that is, you have a desert which is priced out of proportion with the (2) course lunch!

A better meal than my last visit with very good service. Small portions of starters but the mains of deconstructed fish and chips and a warming pork belly and chorizo were actually rather good. Wine by the glass still somewhat overpriced with the cheapest option equating to £20 per bottle.
