About Christakis Greek Taverna

For the past 27 years, Christakis Greek Taverna has been Liverpool's joie de vivre. The restaurant's popular weekend festivities host all sorts of fun, with skilled belly dancers, plate smashing, and DJs livening up the party. This listed Victorian building is brightened up on the inside with sunny yellow walls and bright red accents, and the family sized tables are always filled with happy eaters hungry for Christakis authentic Greek dishes. Favourites include the Garides Scordades and sumptuous Psiton Kleftico, but for parties of two or more you must sit down to one of their mind blowing twenty course banquets. If you're looking for something a little less over the top, Christakis has an early evening menu offering three course meals for only £8.95. Make sure to leave a little room for dessert -- the baclava is absolute perfection.

Good food and reasonably priced, we went for new year and everything was still christmas themed. So the menu didnt really describe what was in the dish.

Food was fantastic and just kept coming. We thought the meal was excellent and great value until we were chased down the street by the waitress to give us £18 back! So it was even better value. We went on a Monday night but next time I would definitely go on a Friday night when they have dancing and plate smashing!

A really enjoyable meal had by all. The food was delicious and plentiful. The entertainment was fantastic and went on until the early hours of the morning and the drinks were resonable. I would definatly go again and will recommend it to people.

We booked here (Christakis Greek in Liverpool) but then realised it was Matthew Street Festival so we didn't go. We don't have a computer at home so couldn't cancel the booking online. Sorry! We will be better customers next time!

Christakis provides great value for money if you have the feast (£14.95pp) and the food was very good considering the number of people they're catering for. It's a huge restaurant over three floors and is a favourite for hen parties. The dancing is very entertaining and good fun.

christakis liverpool

absolutely lovely food and service mixed grill excellent value for money - chicken was nice and moist and the lamb chops were excellent - service fab- and reasonably priced also - fab x

It's quite hard to tell from the reviews on here, but this place is the sort of place where large groups of parties and hen and stag dos sit in a row on trestle tables and there's a show with belly dancing and plate smashing. So, it's not a cosy traditional Greek Taverna, to enjoy a romantic meal for two, but if you are in big group and want a party, it's great - the food was quite tasty and is was good value.

The food was good and inexpensive. Attentive service. A nice choice for a casual dinner.

Christakis in Liverpool is probably great for large groups & parties. We, however, had young niece & nephew with us, so hoped it'd also be 'family friendly'. The kids' menu was excellent, especially as our two are sophisticated [for 5 and 7], & like hommus, good chicken & lamb, & great garlic bread. We were inundated with rice, salad & potatoes, so you'll need hearty appetites. Best of all: the friendly waiter, who paid attention to the kids - so they wrote 'thank you' on the paper tablecloth!

Great evening at Christakis Greek Taverna in Liverpool last night, had a great day at the Grand National and a wonderful meal in the evening, very frendly staff, very authentic greek food, great party atmospher, would definately go again.

Lovely little resturant, staff are friendly helpfull and there is a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is served fast hot and very tatsy.

Very friendly staff, quality of food was excellent and very good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Only thing that let this place down was my boyfriend and I being asked to move after eating our starters to accomodate some diners from downstairs who wanted to see the entertainment. We had a great view of the dancing etc until I agreed to move. They also only asked me when my boyfriend had nipped out for a smoke! Felt I couldn't say no and then was very disappointed with where we had been sat, the waiters shouldn't have asked this in the first place

Christakis Greek Taverna - Liverpool

Staff were immediately attentive and friendly. Meal was brought without delay and there was no rush to get rid of us, even on Valentine's night. Food was excellent, we were very happy and will certainly be back. I've heard the radio adverts about this place and have always fancied going. Very glad I did.

very good ambience, service and food. Would recommend highly.

Christakis is on a small Liverpool side-street so seeks to attract people with various offers/early menus. Food was OK at 50% off but not at full price. The peppered steak didn't seem like the advertised 8oz fillet (yes, I know: "they shrink when cooked"). Kleftiko - tasty lamb but watery sauce. Rubbery kalamares - a smallish portion for nearly £6. Good fried halloumi and smoked pork, acceptable sweets for only £2.50. Bill had 3 mistakes, all in the restaurant's favour, but eventually got sorted

AMAZING food (have the kleftiko!), authentic greek feel to the place. Great Liverpool centre location. Thanks Christakis. FTM

Christakis Greek Taverna, Liverpool. Wonderful food and service, great value for money too! Not a posh restaurant by any measure, but it was food fun and we had an amazing time. Thank you Christakis :)

Very good value on the Toptable deal. Nice atmosphere, rather dated decor- paper tablecloths etc. Had v. good meal.

The food was basic, but satisfying and good value. The host was very friendly and welcoming.
