About Cote

Recently opened in the heart of Theatreland and voted 'Best Value restaurant in the UK' by the Good Food Guide 2009, Cote in Covent Garden has received rave reviews from professional critics and local gourmets alike. The inspiration for the fuss-free French food and the stylish interior comes from the traditional bistros of Paris, and both are proving a big hit with London’s demanding foodies. The emphasis is on simply, reasonably priced dishes and the menu includes familiar Gallic favourites like moules marinières; steak haché with skinny frites; duck confit; and naughty-but-nice tarte tatin with Calvados cream. Cote is ideal for laid-back lunches, mid-week dinners with friends, and pre-theatre meals. We guarantee you’ll come back time after time.

An excellent post show meal. First class food with an extensive and reasonable priced wine selection. We both had steak which was cooked as requested and came with French fries and a garnish. The service was professional and attentive without being intrusive. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

What another great night at Cote. We arrived on time for our 21.00 hours table. We were warmly greeted and taken straight to table by the window as previously requested - in fact probably the best table by the window in the restaurant. They guessed that we were celebrating an event and came with complimentary sparkling wine, which was a nice touch. Food as usual was superb, staff first class - know what customer service is all , they really seemed to enjoy their work, a pleasuarable evening

As always excellent French bistro. Super atmosphere and great value.

The food is always excellent and good value, especially the pre-theatre menu at Cote, like this one in Covent Garden

Cote Covent Garden Very good food and staff very friendly

Excellent dinner at Cote, Covent Garden. The service was friendly, efficient and made us feel welcome and unhurried, despite it being a busy evening. Both the starters and main courses were beautifully cooked, wine was served at the right temperature. Good value in a nice, buzzy atmosphere.I have eaten here before with equally good results.

This place does what it says. It is good value and serves good food and you walk away satisfied (or in my case absolutely full). We went for a pre theatre dinner and although we had a 5:30pm booking, the restaurant was very busy. The pre threatre set menu is very good but they have a vast al carte if you want to spend an extra £10-£15 for three courses. The wine menu isn't bad but could do with slightly more variety. Overall, a good experience and we would go back.

At Cote in Tavistock Street, London, the food was well presented and good value. The staff were efficient and attentive.

Cote, Covent G. Seated promptly and happy with the vegetarian options, was disappointed by unwillingness to serve a main course from the set menu without ordering a starter from the same list, all set menu or none. The food was excellent, the accompanying salad did come with a caterpillar on (hoping not a maggot). I felt it proved it was fresh. It was quickly removed when I pointed it out (I had finished). I was then charged for that starter and offered free coffee. Poor compensation, good food

Cote, Covent Garden Excellent value lunch deal, food tasty as ever, fast and very polite service. Highly recommended.

Lovely food as always. Cote was absolutely heaving with pre-theatre goers on a Tuesday night. Service was friendly but a little on the slow side, as a plus we didn't feel rushed, as a neg we were pressed to get through our meal in time to get to our show. Still, otherwise a positive experience and I'd definitely come back to Cote again.

We went on a Saturday lunchtime and I was impressed by the service, the waitresses were very attentive without being too much so, the food was good value and very tasty! It was a bustling atmosphere with people coming and going and is obviously popular. The only thing that was negative and I'm probably being a bit pedantic here was that where we were sitting there were about 5 fruit flies buzzing around us which was irritating but I'm not sure what they could have done about it!

The pre-theatre meal at Cote in Covent Garden was very good value for money and service was friendly and fast. I'd definitely recommend it for a quick meal before going to the Theatre.

Cote Covent Garden for pre-theatre meal first, they were happy to serve dinner at 5.30 (on a pre-theatre menu) and second, they were fast. Too fast in a way: the bread and olives we had ordered to eat before the starter arrived with the starter, which came almost instantly! However, this was good, as was the steak frites which followed it. The red wine was at the right temperature too - not cold. The service was helpful and friendly and all very reasonably priced.

Our pre-theatre meal at Cote ,Covent Garden was a great success. Excellent starters of Smoked salmon tartine, followed by Asperagus & spinach risotto for my husband and Minute steak and frites for me. The desserts were exceptional. My husband's Creme caramel was the best he had ever tasted either in Britain or anywhere abroad. My chocolate pot with creme fraiche was equally delicious. We had just a glass of wine each with our meal and ended with suberb coffee.

Great pre dinner meal. Good value set menu. Creme caramel a winner.

Cote in Tavistock Street is my favourite choice for a relaxed dining experience in Covent Garden. It always offers excellent value, good food & friendly service. This time was no exception. Both myself & my friend thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Can highly recommend.

Nice meal, and good service.

We both had the set menu at Cote which was excellent. Had Haddock for the mains - which was yummy but not very hot - pointed this out and the waitress immediately offered to replace but we decided to keep. Also had the best creme caramel for dessert. When we got the bill all our side dishes were taken off - a very pleasant surprise. Cote ROCKS!

Cote in Tavistock Street , was busy and buzzing at lunchtime on a Saturday. The service was very good , and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty culminating in a most enjoyable experience.
