About Green's Restaurant and Oyster Bar

Green’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar, founded in 1982 by Simon Parker Bowles and situated in the heart of St James’s, offers great British food, prepared well – fresh fish, meat and seasonal game.

Green’s combines the intimacy of a club with the elegance of St. James’s, for a dining experience that is faultless and memorable. The private dining room seats up to 36 guests or 40 for a standing reception. The room can be divided to create two smaller, intimate private dining rooms.

Greens remains a favourite. It's slightly stuffy atmosphere is not for everyone, if you are comfortable with a clientele around you who would be as comfortable buying a shooting stick as they would an iPad, yo will enjoy the polite quiet chortling in the background. The food and service are formulaic but excellent.

Green's is a favourite - smart, good food, good service.

Greens is just the most wonderful Mayfair institution to have as our "local". The food is just wonderful, and service is swift.

Green's, Duke Street: always a joy. Staff are friendly but not over-bearing, food is well cooked with excellent ingredients, well presented and nothing too fancy. One of the best places to get typically British cuisine done to a very high quality. Good wine list with plenty of choice at a reasonable price.

Green's Restaurant in London is always good value. Well worth a visit.

Greens in Duke Street, London never disappoints.

Green's restaurant in Duke St, London is always good. I go there regularly and will continue to do so.

Took a LONG time to get food, even though the restaurant was not full. Menu is limited, food is good, but not spectacular. There are other options nearby that would probably be just as good for the same or less money.

Typical 'St James' institution. My wife (Spanish) said it was the best fish n' chips she had ever had. I though the smoked haddock (Smoked Haddock Parker Bowels - see I told you!) could have fresher/tastier.

Greens restaurant in Duke Street, London is always good and I will be going again and again.

Greens Restaurant in Duke Street, London is a really great place for a quiet lunch. Food, wine ans service excellent.

Greens Restaurant in London is a cosy place to meet for lunch. The menu is uncomplicated with a wine list to match - both good.

Unfortunately even though the table was booked a few months ago we were crammed and I mean crammed into the Oyster Bar area. Not happy

Service at Green's in St James's is average, it took a while to get served and receive the food, which is fine if you want a leisurely evening. However the food was very good and worth the wait.

The food was OK but the service was excellent. My shrimp bisque was a bit watery and had very little shrimp in it. The rib eye was very good but the chef refused to make a small serving of bearnaise which I thought was a lazy attitude.

Very British experience. Good stuff and nice old fashioned atmosphere.

Green's, London. Sorry, but this was disappointing. We were expecting good quality, straight forward British food in nice surroundings. The food was mediocre at best with some tasteless dishes. The crab salad for example was just crab meat and a bunch of leaves - no dressing or creativity. The fish and chips was made, unusually, with Sea Bass, so why not mention this on the menu when most would expect cod or haddock. The surroundings were dated without being anything like classic.

great fish n' chips

Duke's is a lovely restaurant and we had a fantastic meal on a Saturday evening. The food was exquisite and the services very good. With 50% off the food we felt like we got real value for money. The only let down was the price of liqeour coffees at the end. We should have checked beforehand admittedly, but we were shocked at £12 for an Irish coffee. This only slightly tainted our experience though and providing the 50% off offer remains, we will be back

Really excellent value. Great service and great food.
