About Malmaison Brasserie

Malmaison Brasserie in Oxford – once people were plotting to get out. Now they’re paying to get in. Set in a one-time prison where bad guys were detained at Her Maj’s pleasure, Malmaison Brasserie (part of the supersexy, supercool Malmaison hotel group) is now dedicated to your pleasure instead. The Brasserie has its own unique atmosphere that’s a bit gothic and funky, very much stylish and modern. The menu boasts simple favourites prepared with consummate skill, like signature dishes.

The whole party thought the food and service was excellent. We had a wonderful bottle of champagne and wine. The service didn't let us down either and the location is very well done. We would recommend it, but its not exactly cheap!

Malmaison, Oxford. Better than my experience of Malmaison, Reading, but still fell down on service. We weren't informed of any of the specials, the wine we ordered at the beginning never arrived, and the "Mal burger" lacked flavour. Other than that, the champagne cocktails we had as aperitifs were good, the chicken liver parfait was average and the tuna steak (main course) was good (apart from the deep fried sardines). Don't see us returning, though.

A little pricey imo, but one of the better places to eat in Oxford. The waiting staff were faultless and helpful with good knowledge of the menu and specials.

Very good service, good food-veggie options were limited.

Lovely meal with the ladies to celebrate my friends impending wedding. The wine was divine (if a bit pricey) and service excellent. We requested a private room and the staff were very accommodating. Perfect for a special occasion especially if you treat yourself to a pre or post dinner cocktail upstairs.

I was meeting an elderly family member in Oxford and decided to try the Malmaison Brassiere. The restaurant and food were great, but the service was disappointing. Giving a little guidance on side dishes would have meant we had the right accompaniments for our main dishes. Also the waitress didn’t know what she was serving, commenting she didn’t have a clue on the new menu; then she failed to advise the dish was very hot so my elderly uncle burnt his hand quite badly!

Malmaison Brasserie, Malmaison Hotel in Oxford Castle Very positive experience: the food was sublime and full of flavours, the service friendly and the wine list extensive. The interior is quite quirky (it used to be a prison after all), but exciting.

The Malmaison Brasserie in Oxford is a very civilised restaurant: good service and very good food.

Good food, not cheap but ok. Restaurant attractive. Staff friendly and attentive. No problems other than chasing for some tap water.

Malmaison Brasserie in Oxford was an excellent restaurant. We went for a Mother's day lunch. Thoroughly recommended.

Booking was for 12:30 and when we arrived the restaurant was still a bit shambolic. Servers were very friendly though and food was delicious for all three diners. Would definitely go again but maybe for dinner when there's a larger menu and more atmosphere.

Malmaison Brasserie Oxford was good overall, i.e. food and ambience although our waitress lacked the charm and helpfulness of the other staff. Also, I don't understand why they insist on seating everyone together in one area of the restaurant. Why not spread people out so that they are not 'on top of one another' especially on a quiet night?

I booked dinner at the Malmaison, Oxford for a group of 9 through Toptable and the entire party was impressed by the experience.

We were greeted by friendly and efficient staff and assigned a side room in the restaurant that afforded an excellent degree of privacy, Both food and service were first class and represented good value for money, with the exception of the wine. We opted for sparkling wine and favoured Prosecco but, at £38 per bottle, we felt it carried an excessive mark up.

The Malmaison in Oxford was an amazing venue for a night out. The staff were brilliant and the food was devine! Will definitely be going back soon!

Friendly service at the Malmaison Brasserie in Oxford Castle (at hotel reception turn left down the stairs, it's not well signposted so ask at reception), long wine list, excellent steak frites!

Lovely ambience and good service. I don't recommend the Blue Cheese Souffle at all - far too bland, dense and 'eggy'! The sauce that accompanied it was almost identical to the 'flavour' of the actual souffle therefore added nothing apart from liquid. It is also not served with anything else such as a nice green salad - disappointing. My partner has the Coq au Vin and enjoyed it.

The food: Small portions but very tasty, specially the lobster ravioli or the molten chocolate and the french apple tart. The service: one of the waiter got cream all on one of my shoe I never got a sorry and he didn't offer to clean it. The value: very expensive since it isn't in London Ambience: Fantastic, I recommend having a drink at the bar on the 3rd Floor first Toilets: Too dark I couldn't see myself on the mirror, on the 1st floor and only one for women

Decent food but unexceptional. Nice atmosphere in nice location. However, food was overpriced for the quality.

Malmaison Oxford.

If you are going for Lunch, do not expect a full Lunch menu, as they don't seem to do one, but you can have a late breakfast which they serve up to 2pm.

malmaison oxford, lovely food, amazing service and the location has the wow factor, we will be back
