About Masala Zone

Opened in 2001, Soho’s Masala Zone has become one of London’s most popular Indian restaurants and spawned a fantastic chain of equally fantastic eateries. One of the first to break out of the old Indian restaurant mould, Masala Zone offers a bright, contemporary setting with walls painted in intriguing designs created by tribal artists from West India. It’s not just this rather fabulous and completely unique setting that gives Masala Zone its unique look and feel, but the service that is relaxed, friendly and informed, the wait staff not only cheerful but knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food they’re serving. Passion for Indian cookery is the very starting point for Masala Zone, a restaurant priding itself on its knowledge of the various regions – with specialist chefs for each – the cooking processes and the ingredients which make up the most authentic Indian eating experience.

Had a lovely meal at Marsala Zone

Masala Zone on Marshall Street - interesting lay out, but not as atmospheric as other MZ's I've eaten at. Service was VERY slow, although someone did come out at some point and apologise for delay. Food was ok, but again, have had better meals in other MZ's (namely the one in Angel, N1) The veg in the curry was really hard and crunchy (undercooked) althoguh it all tasted nice ! Would still recommend, as is excellent value for money.

Masala Zone - always good for a quick lunch on a Friday....

I highly recommend Masala Zone in Soho. The food is incredibly flavoursome and excellent value. The vegeatables on offer change daily, which means every time you go, you get to try something new. Brilliant!

Massala Zone, Marshall Street - off Carnaby Street, London.

Great restaurant - friendly atmosphere, authentic street indian food. Staff very attentive and expainded the types of food and potential combinations.

We have eaten here before and it never fails to impress.

Also caters for children with several different menu options and a 'meal deal'.

We will be returning soon!

Great meal in the Soho restaurant, excellent value and speedy service. Thoroughly recommend the Thalis!

I have been to this Masala Zone in Soho a few times and have always had a good meal. I had the grand thali with the lamb rogon josh which was really nice and just the right amount of chilli. There was loads of food and couldn't finish it. My only criticism is that the food came very quickly so they don't encourage you to take your time over your meal as they obviously want to turn the tables quickly. Saying that, the staff were very attentive and I would definitely recommend it.

I suffer with coeliac disease and the Masala Zone were extremely accommodating, they knew exactly which dishes I could eat and the waitress made good recommendations. 10/10

They had no record of my top table booking, luckily they were not busy at this time so we got a table.

Having spent several months in India, I was really impressed with the range of dishes and the use of spices. The variety of vegetarian was good and the kids menu interesting. The value was great, you get a good porrtion and it doesn't break the bank. I would recommend it for a fun place for lunch or a great place to munch after a few beers in an evening. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Definitely heading back.

Good indian food. Hearty and fresh. Service was good too. We had the thali - good portion size and well presented.

Masala Zone in London was great, the staff were attentive and the food great and quick. Some of the best central london indian food, and really decent prices.

fantastic meal with fantastic service which was prompt and attentaive

Hassle-free dining. Staff are friendly and polite; and the food is good.

I love the food at Masala Zone. Haven't been to the Marshall St branch for a few years, we went at 6.30 on Friday it was very quiet but the service was very slow mainly down to the one waitress assigned to our table not really taking notice of where we were at with our meal. We waited 10 minutes after finishing our meal to be offered the desert menu we were then given the menu but waited another 5 minutes before being asked if we want anything at which point we asked for the bill

It was our first time here and we will definitely be going back! lovely food and the staff were lovely, the only slight blemish on the evening was the fact that the restaurant was extremly hot- apart from that a fabulous thali!

Have been to MZ a number of times - it's reliable, decent, good value Indian food. I especially like the street food menu and that's my main reason to go there. The thali is wholesome and good value for money. I would strongly recommend a first visit at least.

Food was good and the service was excellent. However, TopTable doesn't offer any deal on this one so I am not sure if it was good value for money as the two of us spent over £50 for a quick meal.

Its always a pleasure to eat at masala zone on marshall st in the west end. It feels like eating home cooked food. Fantastic deal too!

Masala Zone was clean, and the staff were ok - food nice but nothing to write home about - very ish overall
