About Maxwell's Oxford

A long established late night bar and grill in the famous university city of Oxford, Maxwell’s has played its part in fuelling the country’s intelligentsia over the years. A loft-like interior gives the restaurant a cool, laid back feel which is very much in keeping with the winning Maxwell’s formula of dining, drinking and dancing while the menu combines typical American diner food – the Maxwell’s burgers are almost as famous as some of its former regulars – with a touch of British flavour. Talented mixologists with a vey friendly manner man the Maxwell’s bar, serving not only students but local young professionals and sightseers alike, while live music from bands and DJs ensures that you’ll be here long after dinners done.

Maxwells in Covent garden: nice place, lively and busy, had to wait to get our (roughly half an hour) but food portions were huge and tastes quite good too!

Maxwell's Oxford was excellent, as ever. Good food, good service and reasonable prices.

I went over there for lunch yesterday. It was good value - my friend and I shared a chicken / ribs combo and a desert. The desert was too sweet. Good ambience though.

I have eaten here twice for birthdays. Good food, okay pricing, toilets are in a very perculiar place ! Other than that its a recommend !

Food delicious and portions huge. The quality was good & prices were reasonable. Staff were very efficient & pleasant. Be warned that at around 9pm on Saturday this turns from a nice diner to scuzzy disco - staff were making a dance floor around us as we were having coffee so avoid bookings past about 7pm!

Great value meal, excellent atmosphere, very helpful staff.

Maxwells in Oxford was a great place for us to get together for our Christmas Meal

A very good evening with friends from overseas who had teenage children. We were very well looked after and everyone had a good time.

Maxwells Oxford. Four of us went 7pm Friday evening. Three had 2 courses £7.50, I had 3 courses £10. This is good deal. Burger and chips was tasty and cooked to order and the fudge brownie was very good indeed. Bit outdated inside but good service and nice start to evening. I do wish restaurants served pints though. Two bottles so > £6 for a pint is ridiculous.

Maxwells in Oxford is in a city centre location and serves good American-style food. I ate a Maxwell's burger, which was tasty and nicely cooked, and came with a side-salad and excellent chips. Pudding was brownie with vanilla ice-cream - well-presented and tasty. The 2 courses for £7.50 was very good value.

It was pretty quiet when we visited as it was early Saturday evening. Food was good quality, nothing special but perfectly nice. Mojito cocktails were fabulous

As both of us are non drinkers we were allowed to open our own bottle. Very nice and quiet as early evening

Maxwells in Oxford is exactly as it should be! The food was good and the service was excellent - very friendly!

The food at Maxwells in Queen Street Oxford was good. The service was quick and friendly. It would appear is quite popular as it was busy.

Maxwells - Oxford. Good service, atmosphere, service and value. Would certainly recommend.

i visited maxwells oxford where i enjoyed a good value 2 course meal consisting of starter or desert plus main course.i has a maxwell burger with steakhouse fries followed by a large banana split. pls note that there is no disabled access as it is on the first floor with step access.

We went to Maxwells at Oxford but unfortunately we were only able to stay for a drink each -the long island iced tea was very weak as was the strawberry dacquiri. Service was very attentive, we were asked a number of times if we were ready to order, but we had to go.

Friendly staff, good service, good food for the price, excellent value, tasty cocktails, relaxed atmosphere on a bank holiday, busy other nights, would recommend Maxwells in Oxford.

Maxwells provided a good quality and inexpensive lunch in Oxford.

Maxwells in Oxford serves good portions of American style food. The service is quick and the restaurant has large windows and a fun atmosphere. Good meal overall.
