The food was very good, and the portion sizes were very large. the service was friendly and it had a nice view of the pier. I would recommend going.

No 1 Bar & Bistro at the Queens Hotel in Brighton was a real find. The restaurant enjoys a nice position close to the Pier overlooking the sea and we had the benefit of a window table to enjoy the view. The food was extremely enjoyable, particularly the braised steak that was recommended to us. Prices were also very reasonable and all in all this was an enjoyable and relaxing evening. Recommended.

No 1 Bar & Bistro in Brighton on Saturday night. We were able to look out over the pier and watch Strictly Come Dancing on screens. The waiter were very friendly/helpful and gave us a tinfoil swan/dragon doggy bag. Starters (black pudding, and chilli squid) were amazing and extremely flavourful. The steak was grilled perfectly and melted in your mouth with a fair portion of chunky chips, onion rings and breaded mushrooms. The suggested house red was a brilliant pairing to the meal. Great value.

The food and services was very good. We were seated at a table looking out onto the Brighton Pier and the sea front which stunning.

Great value for money. great food.

No. 1 Bar & Bistro Brighton. Food and service very good . The dinning room could do with updating. The tables were very worn and tired looking.

I booked the No1 Bar and Bistro, Brighton, as we had a number of different dietary needs amongst our party of 8 and the menu satisfied all of these needs. The waiting staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and no fuss made over needing to further adapt some meals. Highly recommended for dietary needs and a nice atmosphere. Only negatives were that the thai fishcakes were not good and the photos on the website make it look fancier than it really is, however we would go again.

Brilliant service and food at No. 1 Bar & Bistro Brighton. Great value.

Lovely location on the seafront at Queens Hotel. We were the only table having food though, as everyone else were guests from a wedding at the hotel, or just hotel guests having drinks. The area was quite open plan along with the bar area. Despite that, the service from the waiter was very good and the food was nice. Would recommend a try, but not if you require somewhere quiet.

Relaxed, friendly and attentive service (oh, yes and the great cocktails!) help make the eating experience at No. 1 Bar & Bistro a positive one. With all the restaurents in the Lanes only a spit away it has got a fight on it's hands to do well. However, the food was good and worth a visit.

No. 1 Bar & Bistro in Brighton has nice food, but is a bit quiet and not quite a restaurant feel.

The dining room at the No. 1 Bar & Bistro at the Queens Hotel in Brighton is right next to the hotel bar. The waiting staff did a good job of looking after us while also handling the bar. The main portions were large and the food itself was good.

Restaurant divided into two areas; a bar/dining area and a quieter, more cosy adjoining room which is where we had our meal. We had polite, friendly service and we both ordered the lamb shank in a wine sauce, which was very tasty and filling. The table setting was good, apart from the various jars and bottles (Colmans Mustard/Sarsons Vinegar)stood on the table, which didn't seem to look right against the beautiful plate of food we ordered. Would recommend and go back again to this restaurant.

Had a starter and main and both where fantastic. They also didn't mind us bringing our own birthday cake and even joined in singing Happy Birthday. Service was great as it wasn't all rushed. We had the area to ourselves which was good for us but with the quality of the food it should have been packed. Will definately go back there.

No.1 bar and Bistro in Brighton was an upmarket location right on the sea front with good views. The food was amazing and there was a nice, good value menu including a good wine list. However, the service was somewhat mixed. When we first arrived the restaurant was quiet and service was good but after a large party arrived the service became incredibly slow and we had to go to the bar to ask for the bill and then up to the bar again to pay the bill. Overall, we enjoyed the evening here.

Good points

- Food was lovely

Bad points

- Staff were shouting very strong language at eachother and messing around

- Service was very slow, considering we were the only ones in the whole resturant!- had to wait over 15 mins for our drinks before our meal

- My partners meal was not as described on the menu, they left off two types of vegetables, and he asked for a side order and they charged him for this- did not think this was fair as his meal was incomplete.
