About Sakura

Liverpool’s foodies know the most sophisticated place in town to eat sushi is Sakura – an upmarket Japanese restaurant located inside Walker House in the prestigious Exchange Flags. The largest teppanyaki restaurant in the north of England, Sakura is popular with Liverpool’s stylish socialists, footballers and soap stars and is very much a place to sip and be seen. Ideal for after work cocktails, sashimi sharing dates and chic celebrations, Sakura has seating arranged around traditional teppanyaki grills which are manned by skilled and theatrical chefs. Seafood and sushi is a specialty here, and the restaurant is fitted with tanks filled with an enticing selection of fresh seafood.

Perfect sushi and tempura. Service was excellent and dealt swiftly when there was a confusion over which area of the restaurant we had expected to be seated in. This is a vibrant and busy restaurant, well worth seeking out as its away from most other restaurants but it is excellent.

An excellent restaurant, great food and a real theatrical experience. I would really recommend that you give this fabulous Japanese restaurant a try, you wont be disappointed.

Sakura, Liverpool: This is fashionable Japanese. Food excellent -quality of ingredients top notch. Service very good, especially Executive Chef who went out-of-his-way to sort out a problem with the bill and to point out that he was not happy with one of the dishes I had ordered and so had it changed. Downsides - teppanyaki chefs too noisy, no green tea (jasmine tea substituted), no sake selection. Very inexpensive lunch & pre-theatre two course menu.

I booked for 4 adults and 1 child at Sakura in Liverpool on New Year's Eve and our experience was fabulous. The staff were very accommodating, polite and friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing with plenty of friendly diners which made our child diner feel at ease. Although it woz a set menu every single course was met with delight from all, in fact the 2 diners sitting next to ours expressed how good their meal was. I will undoubtably return and have recommended it to everyone since.

Food is delicious (beef sukiyaki being particularly recommendable) and there is a good range of cocktails too. However at this time of year the venue was full of Christmas groups who were very, very loud and made it hard to enjoy our more intimate dinner for two.

Probably a good place to head in January.

Sakura, Liverpool Lovely venue, great food.

Sakura Liverpool Went with friends as a belated birthday treat - and what a treat it turned out to be!!! Absolutely fabulous night out. Fantastic fresh food cooked at the table, great entertainment from the chefs brilliant! - thank you to all the staff. Word of warning, the early bird finishes at 5 pm on Saturdays but my advice would be to have the two cheapest set menus - we can't stop talking about what a great night we had there. Definitely one not to miss.

Sakura, Liverpool was very good value with the special offer. My friend had her baby + staff were fantastic with her. They even looked after her while we ate our food! My only complaint was the dessert was dissapointing. The chocolate fondant was over cooked, presumably blasted in the microwave, and had no liquid centre. Also it was supposed to come with green tea ice cream, but they substituted vanilla without checking that was ok. The fish tank in the toilets was amazing but there was no soap.

We were in Liverpool for the day to see the Mathew Street Festival and were pleased to find Sakura for our evening meal before the drive home. The venue was ultra modern and stylish with a lovely outside terrace which, if the sun was out would have been ideal for a pre-meal drink. Unfortunately it had been raining all day, so we headed straight inside. Food was outstanding, service attentive and the chefs put on a great show of preparing our dishes. There was even a jazz band playing! Brilliant!

Superb food and chef show

Great place for families as well as couples as the chefs really entertain involving all the customers and it was great fun to watch. Not much choice for vegetarians.. in fact there were no mains but this was accomodated and I had a mushroom stirfry cooked for me. This was however very pricey at £15.. the same as meat dishes so don't think this was very fair! We used a KGB voucher so it was good value but normally very expensive!

Sakura in Liverpool - We booked the Early Bird Deal but when we got there the staff seemd to be confused and we were told this deal ended at 6pm, even though all other information prior to our booking said 7pm.

We were allowed to order off this menu but we were very rushed (we had had 2 courses of food within about 35 mins and felt like we were being hurried along!

Food was tasty and our waitress was very attentive but Early Bird portions very small!

the early bird 2 courses for £9.95 deal was brilliant value. the food was really really good, we were very impressed and will def be returning soon!

Sakura, liverpool. We ate from fixed price menu which was fine. Service also friendly and efficient . BUT restaurant denied all knowledge of the toptable offers, which was a bit embarrassing. This was Saturday lunch: they were not At all busy.

We opted for the main menu rather than the express lunch offer, purely due to the tempting menu.

After a rocky start, service wise, the food arrived and it was actually rather impressive. This place clearly has the potential to draw in a crowd with such skilfully prepared food, but they do need to sort the service out. I'd try it again, once more, to see if they manage to do so.

Sakura in Liverpool is definitely worth a visit Buzzing atmosphere on a Friday night FAB showmanship at the Teppanyaki tables and superb food, with help & explanations about anything you may not be sure about! The service really couldn't have been any better, very attentive and friendly Not the cheapest experience, especially as we were drinking champagne, but well worth the extra for a well earned treat We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely go again

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, were seated and had some help with the menu. As soon as the order was taken the service declined. It was a quiet Wednesday night and so we expected a better standard of attention. The food was very tasty and to be recommended although they did not have everything we wanted to order. The restaurant itself is lovely and the toilets impeccable, just a shame the service wasn't up to the expected standard especially considering the price of the menu.

Delicious food and fabulous entertaining chefs! Never had such fun over dinner!!

A little expensive, but excellent quality food. The tepanyaki chefs are also very entertaining.

Great experience having the food cooked and prepared infront of you with the showmanship of the chefs was great. Food was tasty and overall was great experience would go again.
