Shikara, Great Tichfield Street, London - Traditional Indian restaurant, very lively, with efficient service and a good quality curry.

Nice food!

I'm a big fan of Shikara. They also so a reasonably priced take out. Their Chicken Tikka Marsala is very good - and not too creamy - which I really like!

Excellent food. very very good value.

Shikara is nice Indian restaurant just north of Oxford Circus, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. We went for lunch. The quality of the food was pretty good - I had Murg Dhansak and it was very nice - just enough spice and sweetness, as a good dhansak should be. The service was a little slow for lunchtime, but courteous and friendly enough.

I ate at Shikara last week for the 1st time, was very impressed so retured last night for another great meal with great service.

This was my 1st time at Shikara, London. A good meal and efficient service. I'll certainly be eating here again.

Good Indian cuisine, I didn't have a dish that blew me away though.

Great food at decent prices for this central London location - one member of the group went for the very very hot phaal, not my thing but came highly recommended!

Shikara London W1

Food was nice, not as good as in the past. Have been here regularly over the last 4 years.

My second visit to Shikara in Gt Tichfield Street - this time with a party of 5. We were seated downstairs - upstairs was packed on a Wednesday night, which is encouraging. Downstairs lacked a little atmosphere to be honest, but no complaints about the food or the services. It doesn't try to be trendy or flashy - Shikara delivers very good food at a reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend it.

Went here as a group of 8 people after work. I have read in other reviews about lack of atmosphere but we did not find this to be the case. Service was good and the food was very good for what you pay. would definitely go again

Lovely meal, nice atmosphere.Quite busy for a weds evening.(shikara - London W1)

One of the better curries I have had in the west end

Very nice food at Shikara - good, varied menu but I struggled to find something I liked with chicken. They do a lot of excellent seafood curries though. Very good naans. Very good service and reasonable prices - all round a great little spot to have local.

Shikara has to be one of the best Indian restaurants in central London. The food is good. The staff are friendly. The value for money is outstanding.

Shikara, London - Being a Monday evening it was quiet but I'd recommend this place; and given its location (probably does most of its trade at lunchtimes) it was reasonably priced (£75 for three with drinks & tip), the staff were friendly and the food was good (naans were of the light, fluffy variety and not pure stodge). The free round of ports at the end topped it off nicely.

Had a good time at Shikara. Food was of a good standard and price was reasonable for west end (£28/head with 2 beers). Menu was standard with some notable exceptions like squid jalfrezi and monkfish malabar. Service was the biggest plus with the waiters willing to have a good laugh and put the 12 of us on our own downstairs. They even provided us with a free phall to try! For West End would def recommend and will go back myself if ever out for dinner in the area.

We enjoyed Shikara in Great Titchfield Street. I would personally recommend the Tandoori Chicken and gorgeous freshly made Naan bread. My friend had a Paneer curry which had a tasty sweet curry sauce. I would also recommend the restaurant and staff who were very welcoming. With the Top Table offer it is extremely good value.

Shikara on Great Titchfield Street in London is a really nice friendly curry house, nice cheap food with the 50% off and good service.
