About The Big Red Pizza and Bar

The Big Red Pizza and Bar on Deptford’s busy Church Street may well be London’s quirkiest venue, which in such a vibrant and creative city is saying a lot.

Situated in a red double decker bus, surrounded by a wonderful terrace and herb garden, the restaurant offers much more than a traditional Italian restaurant.

The Big Red’s fresh baked pizzas, dressed with basil from the ‘dining room’ planters is delicious, In addition the Big Red now makes it's own fresh pasta every day with a range of authentic pasta sauces, the like only to be found in Italy.

So not only will you enjoy fab food and delicious drinks on the Deptford Riviera; under a canopy, on the Riverside Terrace or within the bus itself, but you’ll be treated to art exhibitions, acoustic music, film screenings and other events .

Drinks range from Happy hour cocktails Tuesday-Friday 6-9 pm, to local meantime beer, fantastic organic coffee accompanied by homemade biscotti.

I'm not going to say too much, except that the service was good, and the pizzas were acceptable. It was a bit cramped, but that's to expected; after all, it is a double-decker bus! I'd go there again for sure, but only with one other rather than in a party.

Pizza on a bus! Cheap and cheerful place which always has a nice buzz about it. Third visit this time and I am sure we will be back again soon.

We had a nice, quiet evening in the bus eating pizza. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The pizza was very good. The only thing that was disappointing was the garlic bread with cheese--but that was my fault for ordering that in England and hoping it would be like back home in Chicago (since it never is)

Would go again definitely

We visited The Big Red Pizzeria near Deptford DLR and we were not disappointed. The venue was oddly quiet for such a beautiful day, but the service was attentive without being over-bearing. They were missing fruit ingredients for pimms, which was a shame, but the pizzas truly made up for it. We had a wide range of the menu between us and they tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. We loved them and the price is a bargain for the quality. The bus venue is fun novelty. Highly recommended.

The big red pizza bus does exactly what it says on the tin. You get a pizza served to you on an old london bus. All at very low prices. The quality of the food is very good considering the price you are paying. This was our second visit and we will be going back for sure.

Delicious pizza and good, friendly service in a fun and unusual setting - good value too. Recommended! We will definitely be back.

The Big Red Pizza and Bar is an unusual venue. The food is fine but the main thing is the fact you're on a bus!

Sadly the venue was closed on the day we booked, but someone rang politely apologising for not being able to accommodate us.

Really fantastic dinner. Amazing venue - a double decker bus, lovely and warm and cosy despite the cold weather outside! Great food and really good service. Couldn't recommend highly enough - we'll be going back soon.

Everyone is cosily seated on this double decker bus. We expected it to be a bit drafty and therefore wore the appropriate clothing. The pizzas were definitely tasty and good value. There are sofas under a marquee and there were people bopping away to the tunes. No matter it is largely outdoors - There is a real buzz about this place. (Had a giggle ringing the bell as well.)

Big Red in Deptford is solidly good. Try the chorizo!!!

The Big Red Pizza and Bar is a quirky restuarant/bus in Deptford. The food is tasty although the menu is limited. The prices are very reasonsable and service very down to earth.

For a different sourroundings this one is a winner.

Great pizzas!

Big Red Pizza and Bar is a little out of the way, but well worth it. The venue is great fun - a routemaster bus converted into a restaurant!. Excellent service as usual and delicious tapas and pizza (try the chorizo starter, yummy)

Would definitely recommend, will be going back soon

Fab pizza !!! Deffo worth it :)

Our trip to The Big Red Pizza bus in Deptford was a great experience for both adults and kids. Excellent pizzas, salads and starters - and very generous portions. Drinks not over-priced and best of all the quirky location. Sitting on the top deck, atmospherically lit on a stormy night was really memorable. Only disappointing thing was the chocolate fudge cake which was nothing special, but that certainly didn't bother our 11-yr old guests!

Big Red Pizza in Deptford offers good food at a great price especially with TT 50% off, attentive service and trendy ambience - the converted bus is just a little cold in these cold days. Background music was great. Had a 4 cheeses and my wife had a vegeterian pizza, both tasty with good quality ingredients. Tiramisu was also good. We will go back on a warmer day.

Big Red in Deptford offers great value with a TT offer in great surroundings (a converted bus). Pizza toppings slightly sparse but great quality so you don't mind that much.

Service is awesome (we like Ciydem) and well worth a visit. Shall pop along again soon.

We liked the funky setting and layout of the bus. Service was friendly and efficient and the pizzas were tasty. They forgot to take off the 50% for food - but it's quite reasonable anyway. But beware the cold at this time of year - needed to keep our coats on in the bus!

The Big Red is fantastic. A quirky eaterie with delicious pizzas, huge salads and the TT offer makes it amazingly reasonable to dine out. Go!
