The High Table Bar and Brasserie- Oxford- Very attentive service, pleasant setting, and high quality food

This is my 3rd time visiting this place and the food is just as good as always! Very casual and classy environment, with lots of French actually (showing that they serve authentic French food indeed?). The duck confit I had was good, do was the lamb- my all time favourite!

The food was good, like always. But they should really speed up their service! It took 20 minutes to get the menu and another 40 minutes before the 1st course is on the table:(

The High Table Bar & Brasserie - Oxford: lovely venue for a quiet romantic saturday evening dinner; deliciously prepared presentation (even if smallish portions...). The service was highly professional.

The High Table Bar and Brasseie in Oxford offers a great menu, with something for everyone. The starters were especially delicious, though my main (steak) did come slightly more cooked than I would have liked...

The main issue was the lack of atmousphere. We were there from about 7 until 10pm, and the place was almost empty the entire time. It was a Friday evening, so I expected to be one of many tables, but this simply wasn't the case - perhaps because it is situated far from the town centre

Very quiet but probably due to time of year. Food was excellent quality

The beautifully decorated restaurant lacked atmosphere since there was no one around except us. The service was below average as was the food, considering the prices were not! The starter plates were not cleared from the table nefore piling on the main course. Not vegetarian friendly.

Sightly erratic food and service (asked for a drink three times but it still did not arrive: and they had run out of various things) but a nice meal

I visited High Table Bar and Brasserie yesterday. It was indeed a nice place! The service was good and the food was fantastic! I had lamb and totally loved it, the portion was pretty small though. The steak was good as well.

High Table in Oxford was very good. Food was excellent, staff were helpful. Will go again.

I booked for my GF's (L) birthday meal & overall experience was 'OK' - not really what I wanted for a b'day lunch - bad research on my part I guess. While both of my courses were very good, L's were average but in all cases the quality of the ingredients was better than v. good. Service wasn't very attentive for a quiet restaurant (but it was pleasant) but toilets with no loo paper and hand cream in soap dispensers was poor. Nice place, well designed but didn't match up for value or expectation

The High Table Bar & Brasserie - Oxford. WHAT A SHAME the food was presented beautifully and tasted real good BUT WAS COLD. Only two diners - US we asked that the main course be served hot, but shame on them it was still COLD. We had Crispy Whitebait - Scallops with Belly Pork. Mains New Season Lamb and Sirloin Steak, I sent steak back to be heated chef cooked another, my husband had eaten by this time, chips supposed to be triple cooked but were frozen,I complained the next were right.

very attentive service, good value and pleasant atmosphere

High Table Bar and Brasserie, The High Street, Oxford. Impressive appearance of dining room but food did not live up to it. Attention was friendly but erratic, food was sparse and main courses all tepid. Way over the top for value.

Really good atmosphere and service. Food excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The High Table in Oxford ought to be good. The chef has a good provenance, and the menu is short enough to give one hope that all will be well cooked. Some elements are. We had a very mixed meal, as though the chef were away, and had trained an underling really well in just one of each of the courses. We had six courses between us, and two of these were really good.

The general feeling is of a relatively recent upgrade that for some reason sadly didn't quite work.

very good choice for lunch in the Oxford High Street. Way at the end so easy to miss. Great food and a very nice room. Prices were not bad for three courses. Definitely worth a visit.

Quiet and calm, with excellent service (even when i confused the waitress) accommodating for a quick work lunch, (some arrived for mains some stayed for three courses and some had pre ordered, but all food out in time and together for an hours working lunch, thanks to our waitress and chef) NOT MANY CAN DO THAT!! credit to the restaurant industry and renewed my faith in capable service. Squid was strong with garlic, but the upside, it help me fight an oncoming cold!

The High Table, Oxford: Food was excellent, creative, tasty. Setting was pleasant but could have been more comfortable (hard chairs, naked floors and windows) and cosy. On a sunday lunchtime, on a gorgeous day with a lot of people crowding the High Street, only 10 people were having the outstanding lunch. Something is wrong. Will definitely go back.
