About Ziba @ The Racquet Club

Dating back to 1874 Liverpool’s Racquet Club, now home to Ziba, was once an extremely exclusive place to play rugby, squash and fives. More than a hundred years later the Racquet Club is back with a new look. Gone are the sweaty rugby players to be replaced by gym and treatment rooms, a hotel and very sleek brasserie, Ziba. The expansive Victorian building allows its restaurant a huge arched window, flooding the room with light and making floors, tables and bar gleam. Food ranges from light bites and bar snacks to full three course meals and changes seasonally. Traditional British ingredients are put to use to produce moreish dishes such as poached crab and brill roulade or roast partridge.

Good food and good service, although menu a bit restricted

We took two friends from Australia who were over on holiday and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, great food and wine and relaxing atmosphere. Definately visit again.

Ziba @ The Racquet Club in Liverpool is absolutely fabulous! We coulnd't have enjoyed ourselves more. Sophisticated surroundings, delicious modern food and best of all, a delightful waitress, who really cared whether or not we were having a good time. I would definitely come back - and even better, have discovered we can stay there too.

The only positive part of this visit was the service and steak. Otherwise very little to recommend. Place was empty so no atmosphere and chef managed to produce a goat's cheese tartlet when the menu said a vegetable tart. Won't be going back.

Ziba, Liverpool is in a beautiful building in the centre of town. There is a car park adjacent to the hotel- pricey, claims to be secure there is at most CCTV. There were a few other diners in the large dining area which appears more sparse by nature of the furniture and lack of blinds/ curtains. The latter means you get sight of the goings on in the pub next door. The menu was short but had a good choice. Food was cooked perfectly. Reasonable wine list. Would recommend.

Ziba @ The Racquet Club, Liverpool The restaurant is one beautiful room. A large painting dominates one wall, old photographs adorn another. The menu seemed small, but had something for most tastes, including a vegetarian main course. We had a starter, two mains, a dessert + coffee, and all the food was good. With one beer, a diet coke and a glass of wine the total for two people was £54, which seemed reasonable. Only one other couple came in to dine, so it was a bit too quiet.

Lovely surroundings and great food - highly recommended. I wish it was busier - it deserves to be and would have added to the atmosphere.

Great food and nice atmosphere! Used my TT points and the menu was limited but very strong.

Great wine, good food, will be going again

We had an enjoyable, relaxed and delicious meal at Ziba @ The Racquet Club on saturday night. The food was well presented and very good. The restaurant was quite quiet however, and that did leave a slight gap in the atmosphere, despite the very pleasant and decorative surroundings.

Ziba is a modern clean and stylish restaurant, Staff are very friendly, helpful.although not very busy there was a nice atmosphere. Overall a good value meal in big portion. We will definitely make a return visit and would recommend it to everyone.

Food was pretty good, and a varied menu. Make sure you go during the weekday when its 2 courses for £15 and 3 for £18. Despite the restaurant being just over half full and there being one large party of about 16, the service was rather slow and we had to wait about 50 minutes for our main course.

First time we have been to this restaurant and it definitely won't be the last. We had great food, excellent service and there was a lovely atmosphere around (especially since it was a Wednesday night).

Ziba in Liverpool is located in a fine old Victorian building without loud ghastly music , with spacious tables and good food. The veggie options are well above the usual and the duck excellent. Much better than usual in Liverpool and good for those who do not like screaming hordes. Recommend it if you want to have a good meal and talk to your guests at the same time. Very charming staff too.

Ziba- Fod was good however we felt really rushed due to a very large Christmas party going on in the other room

I had been looking forward to Ziba for a while and enjoyed my experience. Would recommend

My Lamb was very fatty also my sisters pork wasnt cooked so has to be sent back. I have been to this resturant many times i took family from London so i was very disapointed. Rackets Club

Ziba @ The racket club, a great room for dining with a majestic oil painting on the main wall, shame about the view of the pub next door. Despite a table that rocked, we had a great table, service was excellant and the food very good, and not over priced ( but could have been a little less), also a good choice of wine. We will be going again? Yes, a table away from the window, and enjoy the ambience ad food a little more.

We got off to a good start at Ziba, because we were served some delicious, warm, cheese bread, but when we asked for napkins we were told there weren't any! ! We didn't give in, and were eventually given tiny paper napkins. When the food arrived one main course was wrong because one guest had been given the previous day's menu, so the "salmon" she got was not what she had been anticipating. It wasn't all bad. The food was good, one waiter was very professional, but our waitress was abysmal.

Everything was pretty good actually apart form the table we had which overlooked the Pig and Whistle pub, but thats not the restaurants fault. These tables should be slightly away from the window though and that would solve it. Apart fro that excellent in every way.!!
