About Zizzi - Oxford

Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. In honour of Oxford's rich literary history, this branch of Zizzi runs their very own book club! If you need another reason to visit, it's also

Service was a bit slow, but food was nice.

Zizzi in Oxford - good value for money- food very nice.WOuld go back

Zizzi Oxford - was able to get a table at very short notice for a quick meal on a Wednesday, even though the restaurant was quite full. Staff were attentive and the food pleasant and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Zizzi, in Oxford - Very lively restaurant on a Thursday night, very busy and chatty with agreeable service and fresh dishes. Nothing extraordinary in terms of food though. Used the 12.95 offer for 2 main courses (salads). Nice little budget night out !

food tasty but no special offers so works out a bit pricey for a family of 4, last went when it was 25% off the food and it was great but worked out quite expensive with 2 teenage sons.

My first visit to Zizzi - what a pleasant surprise in Oxford - it really is worth walking further down George St to find this groovy restaurant. The decor is clean and crisp and slightly groovy - the wall of coloured plates is definitely worth a look! And then the good times continue. We were warmly greeted. The pizzas were excellent, and quickly cooked in the purple wood fired oven. And you can order a 500ml carafe of some very tasty wines. So I will be back!

Had a great evening at Zizzi in Oxford. Excellent service and great food. I was especially satisfied with the speed of the service: we never had to wait at all, main course was served right after we finished starters.

Family outing to South Pacific at the New Theatre opposite Zizzi's, which was why we chose to eat there after the matinee. Seven of us included a 13 year old grandson and a 90 year old step-father. Menu suited everyone. Food was good. Prosecco and wine also good. Service very cheerful and attentive. Price for three courses each, coffee and booze came to £180, which is reasonable by most standards today, especially Oxford.

Lunch menu and food at Zizzi, Oxford were good for a restaurant chain. Service was satisfactory to begin but became swamped by a large party which meant a long delay to return to us.

Five of us went to Zizzi in Oxford, on our way to the very near New Theatre for an operatic evening. Everyone seemed happy with the starter and the main course - though service was perhaps a little slow. It was a very busy Saturday evening, but, then, it probably often is.

tasty food, but quite expensive with Children, atmosphere is nice but still worked out a lot for a sunday lunch of pizza and pastas, they normally have the odd offer with 25% off the food and that is more reasonable.

Good atmosphere and service although disappointed that the waiter or management were unable to confirm if pizzas and pastas contained egg for the vegans in our group.

Friendly and lively, staff smiling and cheerful!

Nice food, good service pity about the drunks hanging around outside. It is the centre of Oxford though so not really ZiZi's fault.

Zizzi in Oxford was an enjoyable experience, even on a hot Saturday evening. We ate early: the welcome when we arrived was very good, and several more staff appeared at 6pm, which meant that service was quick, efficient and very friendly. The standard Zizzi menu has a good variety of dishes, but our favourites are the rustica pizzas, which won't leave you feeling hungry. The drinks are reasonably priced and also a good variety. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Good food. The service, however, if far from ideal.

Nice surrounding and atmosphere, good food.

Zizzi at Oxford had reasonable food as expected at such chains, and the duty manager seemed really friendly. However, service was a tad slow. Overall a reasonable place for a simple meal.

Zizzi, Oxford. Yet another good meal here. Pizza cooked to perfection, and attentive service; combine that with the special offer it all makes for a great place to eat.
