We turned up and were the only ones in there. However, it was 2pm on a Friday afternoon, maybe after the lunch time rush etc. Definitely different and slightly spooky...but a lovely idea and lovely setting all the same.

Alma de Cuba, Liverpool Excellent service. Good food. Good value.

Alma de Cuba, Liverpool made for a great Sunday lunch. We went for the gospel singers, and had a very nice time. The food was really good, with very large portions too. Try the vegetable laksa! The gospel singing was super- it was quite a small group, but it was lovely music. The only shame was that unless your table was on the right part of the balcony you couldn't see the singers. Other than that, perfect and would recommend.

Alma da Cuba, Liverpool Returned with a friend, this time in the evening, when it was much busier.

As before, loved the atmosphere, service was ultra friendly and efficient, helped by a very polite and welcoming manager, who even apologised for the large group next to us, who actually were very well behaved!

Food was excellent - very different from the usual. Had, risotto, coconut laksa - and spring rolls (chocolate!) for dessert. All different and delicious,

Would deinitely recommend

Husband booked us in for lunch at Alma de Cuba on my birthday (Monday) The tapas were delicious. My first ever Bellini was gorgeous. Husband had a pint. My key lime pie was sans LIME. great Aussie waitress had chef add the missing Ingredient and all was well. Husband had the chocolate brownie which he proclaimed yummy. Great coffee. Great experience and we will return.

Alma da Cuba, Liverpool. First time here. Dceided that the evening might not be our scene, so went one Thursday lunchtime - almost deserted. Wonderful surroundings - loved the church atmosphere, though might not be to everyone's taste. Very friendly service and delicious food. Might even try an evening!

Alma de Cuba in the former St Peter's Church, Liverpool is a revelation. The atmosphere is superb. Cocktails are the best way to start the night downstairs and then go upstairs to have a bite to eat. It's very noisy in the restaurant so not the place for a romantic meal!

Alma de Cuba

Great atmosphere at Sunday Brunch. Food oversalted.

Great setting.Varied menu, touch pricy but great food.

Very interesting setting; excellent service; plenty of space between the tables upstairs in the restaurant; good starters; good wine list (to suit all budgets); failry mediocre mains tho (I had the lamb which was a bit small and fatty). Having been once, I'm glad I went, as it is a unique place with it being a converted church etc, and it's certainly not an unpleasant experience, but the food wasn't good enough to have me rushing back.

Visited Alma de Cuba on a Wednesday night. Although it was quite quiet due to it being mid-week, this place is AMAZING!!! the Building is stunning, you could spend hours just looking around. Staff wise (Kai our waiter) was attentive without being too in your face and the food was gorgeous!! A definite recommendation is the Champagne Strawberry Crème Brulee, it is quite possible the nicest dessert I have were had. Would recommend Alma de Cuba to anyone!

Very impressive venue, excellent service and good food. A very good night out.

Entertainment was ok but not as expected food was good but is alot nicer in the evening

Excellent food in a stunning location , friendly and efficient service . Thoroughly recommended

Alma de Cuba, Liverpool. Good food, even better service and a great atmosphere. Not sure where the chef comes from but the choice of food was not only Cuban, the crispy duck was great!

Alma de Cuba in Liverpool was brilliant. All four of us throughly enjoyed our meals. Love the interior, very unique and perfect for a romantic meal or a group gathering. Will definitely be going again.

Dined at Alma de Cuba Friday night. Venue is very impressive. Starters were average, but mains and dessert were lovely (my friend is still talking about her salmon!). Service lacked a little in general waiting etiquette, but we would still return and recommend. Great night out to be had.

Alma de cuba in Liverpool was a really good venue. Keenly priced wine list, nice food but most of all the place itself was amazing. Converted church beautifully done out. Good rib eyes, good chips with Harissa aioli (a nice twist), and ok dauphinoise (have the chips!)

Alma de Cuba. Party of 4.

Previously told it's supposed to be one of the best Cuban bars/ restaurants in the country but the menu is a bit of a fusion. Portion is small, but tastes fine. Wine is reasonable.

Stayed in a nearby hotel and received 20% discount so it's ok value.

Decor is a big plus. I heard there is gospel choir at their Sunday brunch.

Good food and a really interesting environment. Thoroughly enjoyed and have returned since.

Stunning setting! Candles, candles, candles! Gorgeous, tasty, interesting food. Very friendly service. And despite the large open space and busy restaurant with groups and couples, we could hear every word we spoke to each other.

Alma de Cuba in Liverpool has all you could want from a restaurant. Gorgeous surroundings, lovely food, friendly service and pretty damn awesome cocktails too. Highly recommend going to the Gospel brunch on Sundays for a different eating experience!

Alma de Cuba, Liverpool. Food excellent although we waited a while.Very good prices. Gospel choir singing - much more pleasant than "pop" music on a loop!

Meal was very good in fact excellent !

The building and it's interior are truly amazing, as were the gospel singers at Alma de Cuba, Liverpool. A big plus. The menu is a good quality fusion mix, not Cuban. Alas, although the staff were polite and attentive the first cocktails arrived with the food. Perhaps not the best recipe to start the Sunday brunch.

Amazing place!!!

Totally enjoyed the evening at alma de cuba from the warm welcome from the hostess and friendly waiting staff to the delicious food and cocktails. If you find yourself in Liverpool then do go, its not cheap but worth every penny. The venue is dramatic, stylish and tasteful. Will be making a future booking for sure.

Alma de Cuba on a Sunday evening was surprisingly busy for such a vast space. My laksa was delicious as were my husband's duck spring rolls. Chillis were well represented although to our palate not overwhelmingly so and we had a good evening. Service good and friendly but the music was a bit too loud for us oldies!

Visited Alma de Cuba on Saturday night 9.45 for dinner and drinks, the venue is amazing, its a huge old church, high ceilings full of candles and interesting decor. Food was very tasty but not especially different from standard good restaurant food Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, although we did get our food before we had any drinks. Biggest disappointment was the excellent latin music at the start soon turned into generic pumping house that every bar on the street plays. Still fun

I absolutely love this place . . . can't believe its taken me 5 years to find it!!! Place is GORGEOUS . . . alot of money has clearly been spent on the decoration. Food is fab, service is fantastic (good recomendations!) and cocktails are too die for! Most definately will be going back :)

Alma de Cuba is an amazing venue, with friendly and very helpful staff. The management is considerate and the whole team went out of there way to ensure we had a great time. The food was excellent in taste and presentation. Definately a place to visit more than once!

We had a great time at Alma de Cuba. Great setting, great cocktails and a great menu. The food was delicious and the staff both friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
