My girfriend and i went to annexe in Birmingham the other night. It was fantastic! From the moment we walked in the staff were nothing but friendly. The food was great, and the menu reflected a blend of both italian and french cuisines. The restaurants decor was beautiful, and really gave a genuine Parisian feel. We also got 25% off the bill with toptable. Will definitely be going back here, five stars!
Visited Annexe, Birmingham 21st October. We had to sit in the "bar" area as they had not "recovered" from an over running event in the dining room. Apart from this being noisy, both from customers & music it was no big deal. We asked for the music to be turned down, which they did. The food was wonderful, with first class service...attentive but unobtrusive. Good selection of food to suit most tastes and not over priced.
This truly was a truly fabulous nite from the moment we arrived to the time we left. We were greeted by Damien, the owner, served drinks by Romain and waited on by a lovely man from Algeria who I didn't get the name of. The food was very good. We had a seafood platter for 2 to share as our starter which consisted of prawns, crab on toast, mussels and smoked salmon followed by rib of beef for 2 with Portobello mushrooms, chunky chips. Wine list, excellent, some fine wines or less expensive.wines.
We arrived at Annexe, Coropration St, Birmingham to receive a very warm welcome from our delightful host. The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming too, has a funky feel with good music complemented by old movie reels running above the kitchen, which is on view. The entire ambience was relaxed, the tasty european cuisine ( we had prawn starter, sea bass special and rib eye main) was served efficiently and at all times accompanied by great service. Not to be missed.
My friend and I visited Annexe for the first time last night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The service was friendly and attentive without being invasive and the food was fabulous. We shared the seafood platter to start - the homemade tartare sauce was delicious - I had the lamb two ways and my friend had steak frite. Both main courses were well cooked and generous. The ambience in both the bar and restaurant areas was relaxed and charming. We will definitely be going back.
Annexe (Birmingham City Centre). When my partner and I arrived for our booking we were a little disconcerted to see only two other people in the restaurant. We felt this niggle was unjustified though, as the food, service and general ambience really impressed us. The food was consistently high quality and flavoursome. The service was both friendly and very attentive. The ambience of the restaurant was superb (particularly when more diners joined later) - would heartily recommend to other diners!
A genuine and very pleasant surprise. Took my wife out for her birthday and were really impressed with the service, welcome and selection of real ales (rare for a restaurant). We had a drink in the bar area beforehand which is quite separate to the restaurant area. The service was first class, but the food was the absolute highlight. Beautiful. Manager / owner was a very friendly Frenchman who made us feel welcome and we'll definitely return.
The food was really delicious, I had chosen the pork, but was reccomended the Lamb by the owner, I could not have been more pleased with it, it was succulent and delicious. The ambiance in the place was very welcoming, with subtle background music playing, intimate decor and an old black and white movie being projected (silently) onto one wall. The manager is really adept at making his guests feel welcome. I will definitly be eating there again.
The food was generally OK. However, each dish had faults from the cold cabbage to the tiny monk fish! The menu was limited and despite booking in advance and a very empty room two of the dishes were sold out, severely limiting choice. The service was friendly but there was a real lack of knowledge about the dishes. The waitress could not reccommend any dishes did not know how many the platers served. The meals all came out at the sametime but delivered to the wrong customers. Poor for the price!
Annexe offers a good range of european dishes without feeling the need to maintain an overly long menu. The cooking style is assured and balanced with taste placed high on the agenda. Service is welcoming and relaxed, as is the venue which is neatly designed in a way that quiet nights still enjoy a good atmosphere. In a city that is dominated by chains its a delight to find a quality independent.
The annexe in Birmingham is a real gem. Bit of an unexpected location but great food. Great wine also - The Argentinian Malbec is highly recommended. The restaurant has only been open for 3 months and the owner tells me he is always trying to improve things. He's moving in the right direction.
annexe is a really brilliant restaurant brilliant to celebrate a birthday because they dim the lights especially for the birthday person and they put a happy birthday song on and thats what makes a person feel very special. im happy with the great service.

We had a great evening at Annexe. The food and service were excellent. Made even better by the 25% top table offer.
We had a conference in Birmingham on 24 June and so needed a nice restaurant to entertain conference speakers and others the evening before. Picked the Annexe as it was close to our hotel (The Thistle City, Birmingham) and they were offering 25% discount on food. Although there were no other diners that evening we had a great night. The food and service was excellent and the menu, although limited for those not eating fish dishes, gave some interesting choices. Highly recommended!
Superb food, friendly service, excellent value - highly recommend it. Do a great lunch time deal as well. Well worth the visit.
