The Bamboo Basket in Westminster provided us with a very appetising lunch. Unfortunately at 2.00 p.m. on a weekday afternoon the restaurant was deserted. Not their fault but it did affect the atmosphere.

Not my fav Chinese, and with their prices I would have hit either the Phoenix palace in marylebone or pearl Liang in paddington. In short the food was okay at best and the service was pretty appalling.
The ambience however is pretty cool, the decor is rather modern Chinese with wooden bamboo sticks on the walls. Sat at a quiet corner of monck street in Westminster, good place to have a chat with your friends as it hardly ever gets busy.
The Bamboo Basket provided excellent food but at a cost and with very pedestrian service. This was a shame the dishes (for a group of 10) came separately and over a quarter of an hour period for each course.
When it came the food was excellent but was more expensive than we were expecting which was embarrassing as I was not paying.
Excellent food and service.
Front of the house needs to be nicer - it feels like they are not keen to get customers through the door!. Also the portion sizes are variable from one time to the following!
Bamboo basket near Westminster was a great little spot for pre NYE nibbles. Food was lovely and a pleasant vibe. Nothing OTT here, which was nice, just enjoying the food and company.
Bamboo Basket Central London, a little hard to find but glad we did - lovely meal, reasonably priced, good service altogether a very pleasant night
A friend and I went to Bamboo Basket in Monck Street, London for lunch. We started with Dimsum, which was delicious. Then we each had a rice and meat course. The restaurant was not very busy, the service was very good and fast. It was relaxing and a good place to meet to catch up on news.
Now called the Bamboo Basket, this restaurant in Monck St is exceptional - great service and food in a calm environment.
Nice venue in a central part of London. Good with groups as well - we all got reasonable attention
Food a bit bland, but maybe we were a bit unlucky with our choice of dishes... Nice ambience but odd service (e.g. waiters constantly hovering around while you are eating). Not cheap.
This restaurant has now changed its name to Blue Bamboo. We had a great dinner here, the food was amazing as usual - much nicer than your average Chinese restaurant! Try the dim sum basket and the sweet and sour King Prawns - FANTASTIC! Note also, you get 25% off dinner (excluding Dim Sum), which is a nice bonus, although I don't know why they don't just make the menu 25% cheaper. I would not recommend desert here as it is overpriced - around £8.50. Overall - a great place!!
Made in China is now the Bamboo Basket 37 Monck Street London SW1P 2BL A real find. Good dim sum, delicious sizzling beef and lamb. Staff and surroundings rather unfriendly but food really good, freshly cooked by two chefs while you wait. We shall be back.
Lovely meal - scallop&prawn dim sum were a highlight. All you usual dishes, but done to a much higher standard. Note: this venue has changed its name.
An early dinner before a concert. We were the only ones in there - perhaps it was too early, or just a part of town where people don't go out for dinner. The food was wonderful though, best chinese I've had in a while, and we got a mid-week discount, which was a nice surprise!
Enjoyed the meal at Made in China Monck Street - will go again!
Great place and good location. Dim sum was fantastic!
Wasnt very busy when we visited so was a quiet and laid back experience. The food was cooked very well although the noodle dishes were a little plain.
The food here is really good - try the lamb shank with Red Curry sauce, it is amazing! The service was fast, but it was too fast. The waitress cleared our plates before the whole table had finished eating which I thought was a bit rude. Although the food is good, I think it is too expensive for what it is.
Made in China is consistently of a high standard - food, service and ambience yet again all very good indeed.
Went to Made in China with a friend, were happy with the 50% offer and the atmosphere but the beef dish we ordered was not good quality, the meat is tough and vegetable stringy.
Partner and I went for dinner. As we arrived the waitress flagged for us to sit anywhere. Our waitress seemed uninterested. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was tasteless and watery. It was replaced and tasted a little better. Rest of the meal was OK.
Very nice plance, excellent environment and the food was delicious and definitively worth it for the price we pay. The only issue, is that since we were a big group the food took ages to arrive and some of us had already finished when others were just starting. But the staff were very friendly... Will definitively recommend it, if going in a big group, set a menu in advance!
Excellent again. Food and service at Made in China is first class.
Made in China is a pleasant venue in Westminster in London. The food choice is extensive and the service is pleasant without being intrusive.
Good service, average food.
I've been to Made in China a number of times, its a solid and reasonably good value experience if you're in the area. Prompt and efficient service.
Made in China In Westminster was, again, an excellent choice. Nice ambience, attentive service and lovely fresh food (apart from the stir-fried duck which was a disappointment)
Made In China - The service was friendly, but slightly disorganised. The food was some of the best chinese I've ever had - although its pricey for what it is
Lovely team lunch, good food and local for us. very much enjoyed
Made in China was, yet again, an excellent choice. The sizzling beef was as good a meal as we've had anywhere! Service, ambience and food were all great - what more can you ask?
Food was ok, service a bit rushed, overall a good experience. Good value.
I have been to Made in China before, but only every for dinner, which is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it. This time I went for lunch, the menu was very simple with not much choice and I felt the waiters were not paying much attention to us. We had to call for them whenever we wanted to make an order and when they were closing up I felt we were very much being pushed out. So maybe it's not the best place to go for lunch but the quality of the food is excellent so go for dinner.
Made in China in Monck St, Westminster was an excellent example of quality food, great service and a relaxing environment. A wee bit pricey on the menu, but the 50% off deal made it great value. A gem!
Went here for a quiet meal as it is quite near my house. Good value with toptable deal. Better than most Chinese restaurants in London but, as with most Chinese restaurants I have experienced in London, the beef is not the best quality.
Enjoyed our meal here!
Made in China has great food. The dim sum was excellent but unfortunately wasn't included in the 50% off deal with toptable. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the meal and service was good.
made in china is again delivered the good quality good food. the service is good. if you are looking for a quick good for value dinner, made in china is a good choice to go.
The Restaurant was beautiful and the food was lovely.
Would definitely recommend.
Made in China, London - bit of a back street place which probably means you always get a table. It was empty when we went. We had 50% off food but it was still on the expensive side with two drinks each. Lovely food though and good service so if you dont mind paying a little bit more for your chinese a great place to go.
Excellent quality food, absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Nice, modern ambience. The only thing to be aware of is that in comparison to other Chinese restaurants this can be quite pricy.
good food and a lovely place, very empty but it was mid week....
Made in China, London
The food was very nice and staff very attentive. However, if it had not been for the top table deal I think it would have been overpriced.
Made in China, Westminster. Have always walked past on Sundays but have not been there. It's very delightful and food was decent, menu is comprehensive and quiet atmosphere. Would certain try again!
Food disappointing. Not great value despite the 50% offer
Made in China - Westminster, London
Absolutely lovely food and interior. The service was very good and there was a lot of choice on the menu, including for vegetarians. I found that the food is quite pricey but well worth it. Highly recommended.
The chilli crab was amazing. Black cod was good too. Doesn's have a lively atomsphere but can be intimate. Staff we attentive.
