This large Restaurant was a pleasant surprise and had a constant stream of clients all gushing about the food on the way out. The food was good, the decor was very nice and the waiters were very attentive. Meals were served on very hot plates which was such a nice change.
The only down side was there were no deserts, the popodoms served prior to the starter was deemed to be the third course. That said we were quite stuffed and would probably have struggled with desserts.
Me and my partner went to Celebrity Indian Restaraunt in Birmingham and tried the 3 courses for £12.95. We found the food rich in flavour with high standards of presentation and were very satisfied with the attentive service we recieved. The only thing we found misleading about this deal is that the 3 courses were a starter a main with a poppadom each making up the 3rd course instead of the expected dessert. overall we were pleased and would eat here again.
good food, good service!!!
Recommend, really good deal 3 course for £13. Popadoms and then main and either naan or rice. Food is lush, had lamb rogan josh. Very tasty. Was very full!
The food was excellent and the £12.95 menu was particularly good value. I wuold recommend it.
Celebrity Indian Restaurant - food, service and venue excellent . Good variety and quality menu.
Located near the tasteful and lively Brindley Place, this restaurant has a smart and calm interior set in a fine old building. Staff were quick, courteous and helpful. The menu was tasty and good value. Recommended.
Celebrity Indian Restaurant, Birmingham.
Great venue, smashing food and good value. Will be returning!
Great meal and great offers. Popadoms to start and lamb tikka followed by lamb rogan josh. So full. Big portions, so good value for money. Staff are great. Wine was good for the price. Recommend.
Very good food and service. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back.
Celebrity indian restaurant was average. Our starters of fish and lamb did not taste fresh, and seemed like they had been reheated in the microwave. My fish was also erring on the undercooked side. Mains were okay - my korma had a good flavour but the sauce was quite watery and chicken was not very good quality, again it seemed microwaved. My partner's was slightly too tomato-ey for a curry. Overall I didnt think the 3 course offer was great value and I dont think I would go back.
Food tasty though not special. Staff very friendly and helpful. For example they do not use table food warmers but were very willing to re-heat main meals for those of us that are somewhat slow eaters. 3 courses for £12.95 Special offer gives reasonable choice and value.
Good food and good varied menu that surpasses your standard indian restaurant offering, but the service was a little officious. We were moved to a table near the door out of the way of the rest of the restaurant which mean we didn't get a sense of the overall ambience
Highlight was having Simonsig wine on the menu, haven't seen that anywhere outside of South Africa before.
Celebrity Indian in Birmingham
It was a lovely place, the manager was brilliant as he let us have the 3 course offer even though we were late as we got stuck in traffic. The meal was fantastic and the service was fab. Highly recommended!!
Celebrity Indian Restaurant in Birmingham certainly lived up to it's reputation. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service very good. They made a mistake with the order which was quickly rectified. The food was superb and portion sizes were generous although I didn't like their vegatable rice which was a bit mushy. It was very busy so was a little noisey but we really enjoyed our meal there and would definitely go again. Definitely recommend it.
Celebrity in Birmingham was really good, and the offer before 7.30pm of 3 courses for £12.95 an absolute bargain. Each dish was tasty and the right proportion. I am no expert of this cuisine but really enjoyed the Chicken Karahi, a dish I had not come across before. Service prompt apart from the end (by which time it had got busier) when it took too long to get the bill, but cannot fault the main purpose. Highly recommended.
Food fantastic and plentiful Ambience great, for so early in the evening. Staff - what can I say? This is the friendliest Indian restaurant in the city centre and they will always score top marks for their 'hosting' skills. Keep up the good work Celebrity
Fantastic evening, 12 of us on a private table at the front of the restaurant. Food was great, popadoms to start I recommend the onion dip. Service was quick and wine was nice (pinot grigio). I had the lamb rogan josh which I also recommend, good size portions so was full of sharing rice naan and a curry. Good for parties, social gathering, great location on Broad Street to go for drinks after.
We visited the Celebrity Indian Restaurant, Birmingham.Fabulous food. Really busy but the staff still managed to be friendly and attentive.
Celebrity Indian Restaurant, Birmingham. A very nice restaurant in a great location by the canals. Good food in superb surroundings. They gave our group of 8 a big table at the top of the stairs and kept up a well-timed attentive level of service. Seemed very well organised. Not too expensive considering the quality and quantity. We had a great evening.
We visited Celebrity in Birmingham recently and couldn't believe as locals we hadn't come across it previously. A jewel in bustling Broad St - I would def recommend it for excellent value for money for the three course menu and authenticity - nice service too. will def go again!
Celebrity Indian Restaurant, Birmingham I had booked a birthday meal here for my girlfriend online and I requested a small cake as a surprise for her, but not sure if the reservation was actually confirmed. Aside from this, the food was excellent. Myself and my better half thought the food spices were well balanced and the portions were well sized and filling. The atmosphere was plesant and service was very good. Will be definitely going back!
The restaurant had a 3 courses for £12.95 offer which I felt was a bit misleading as it was essentially 2 courses with the third course being poppadoms. To make matters worse, we were only given 1 poppadom each. I thought this was a bit cheeky as some Indian restaurants will even serve poppadoms as a complimentary amuse bouche. Excellent food and good value for money, but they could do without misleading diners on the true nature of the offer.
I took potluck with this selection and it turned out to be extremely good. A group of 10, we had a dedicated table set up in a slightly more private space with excellent service and attentiveness which was good to see. We chose a Banquet which worked really well for a group so you could have a bit of eveything and it was again of an unexpectedly high quality. Everyone in the group (many of a discerning nature) had positive things to say and our overall experience was extremely good.
I booked this last minute for a work night out. Nice atmosphere, and fairly busy even on a Wednesday. The venue is central, spacious and looks great. The service and food were both excellent. The onion bajis the biggest i've ever had. There were 11 of us and all 11 were impressed with the whole thing, which may be a first. Well worth a visit if your in Birmingham.
Good service, wide choice on the menu, good central location, lacks the sparkle to make it excellent.
Food and service is good, and great value on the offer. Also Cobra on draft rather than expnsive bottles.
We ate here on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised. We were looked after well by the staff who were attentive. The menu offers plenty of choice and is very descriptive so there shouldn't be any surprises.Tthe food was excellent, tasty and not over spiced. We will definitely return.
Food is good, but toilet facilities need a lot of updating.
Modern indian restaurant, where traditional dishes are cooked to a level above your average curry house. The food is good and non-greasy, but nothing extraordinary. Waiters are also very attentive.
Visited Celebrity on a recent trip to Birmingham, good value and very tasty food, not much atmosphere but that was probably down to it being the 30th dec, would reccomend with or without the offer.
44 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2HP 2 People, 18:30, 28 December 2010
As usual a lovely experience, good food however the ladies loo one was just terible the other did not have loo paper when this was achieved there was no lock on door. It was quiet but the head waiter was very friendly and helpful. Have been before on many occasions and will continue to go.
Beautiful location, very pleasant staff. The food was perfectly prepared. I recommend this venue especially if you want to be near the theatre and clubs.
Celebrity Indian - Birmingham.
Lovely restaurant - Staff are attentive & polite. & the food is delicious! Would highly recommend.
Celebrity Restaurant, Birmingham Lovely decor, friendly staff and fantastic food, presented and served very well, brilliant value for 3 meal, however it was a little misleading that out of the 3 courses, one course was popadums! Starters came quickley which was great, however there was no breathing space between the starters and main, would definately still eat there again and recommend to others too. A real shame about the toilets, not up to same standard as the rest of the venue.
Lovely restaurant with very polite and friendly waiters. Food was delicious and good value- we will be back!
Excellent meal and great service!
We came to Birmingham to take part in the Choir of the Year competition and we were tired and hungry by the end, so looking forward to a really good meal.
Celebrity Indian did not disappoint. The selection of dishes included within the excellent value £12.95 menu was comprehensive - the spice cod starter was particularly delicious, as was my (vegetarian) partner's deep fried, marinated paneer. The service was attentive and friendly without being excessive. We'll definitely return.
Celebrity Indian Restaurant in Birmingham was great. We did the 3 courses for £12.95 and we loved the choices. I had mixed vegatable buhnna and my fiance had chicken korma. We both loved the food and really enjoyed it. The customer service was fantastic and we will go back again when we next visit Birmingham
I went to the restaurant on Saturday night.
First time for me.
I Liked the layout the service was good. Lighting was good not noisy especially since it was Saturday evening The waiters were very attentive. Good value for money. However when i asked about the washroom was told just down the stairs - no sign posted at all nearly ended up back outside on the street would actually go in again with friends
Having dined at Celebrity a few years ago (before it's interior re-design) I wasn't sure what to expect. We went for the Happy Hour Menu with 3 courses for £12.95 which was reasonable value but inevitably with much less choice. £3 for a poppadom and dips was a bit excessive on the happy hour menu when they come free in many restaurants. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and I particularly liked the North Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken - a bit closer to authentic Indian food. Would return.
Meal was delicious, lovely menu, bit different to standard indian, I wanted all the starters!! In the end went for mango and chilli fish followed by venison, both lovely and washed down with a £30 bottle of pink champagne, very nice evening all round!
Celebrity Indian Restaurant is in a brill location, staff are great - very helpful with booking alteration etc - TT deal makes this a very good value.
Went in for the 2 for 1 deal - great value and food
Very nice restaurant food of high quality, very nice really enjoyed it
Celebrity Indian Restaurant is ideally located in the heart of Birmingham city centre. The menu is well priced and there is enough to chose from! Includes all the favourites, as well as some of the chef's own specialties and alternatives such as duck to try. Highly recommended!!
