ambient familiar and comfortable. I recommend it for people like me who have gluten intollerance.

Cotto is a lovely family run restaurant that serves a range of tasty, but probably couldn't be called extraordinary, Italian dishes. Also does gluten free pasta and pizza!
excellent authentic pizza; lovely friendly atmosphere.
Warm and friendly. Food was good.
Nice find! Cotto has an excellent selection for diners who are gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant, etc
Fantastic for anyone allergic to wheat/Celiac. Fantastic choice of great food and a chance to not feel awkward when ordering! Highly recommended.
Cotto Westminster Road London - Pretty average food - pretty average interior (if not below average in the place we sat right at the back.
Service was friendly - menu was unimaginative - being charged for bread and butter isn’t that unreasonable - but one piece of a cut up baguette and a wrapped butter portion is.
And being asked if I am leaving a tip is one sure way to not get one! Not likely to go back although all the above being accepted it was ok/average.
I love Cotto on Westminster Road, mainly because I am wheat intolerant and the offer a whole gluten and wheat free menu full of pasta and pizza dishes as well as gluten free bread. They also offer a normal menu too. A great cosy little Italian restauarant.
Very friendly, traditional Italian. Food was good as was the service. Good find in an area not best served for eateries.
Went to Cotto, Westminster Rd, on a Thursday night. Choose this place as I have a wheat and gluten allergy and they offer a whole wheat free menu. Not something you find very often! They even offer delicious freshly baked wheat free bread. I opted for a pizza and whilst it was good it could have come out of the oven 2 minutes earlier. Tasted good but not cheap at £14.50. £5 more than the 'normal' version. I will definiltey be going back but not as often as I would like unless they lower prices.
We visited Cotto near Waterloo early on a Saturday evening. It was already busy. Typical, authentic Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good, priced about right. Only negatives were that olives were on the table and we were each offered a roll which we thought were complimentary but we were then charged for them on our bill. We were also encouraged to tip 'do you want to leave anything for the girls that served you' said the manager!!
Cotto is a nice family run restaurant. The food is filling and there are plenty of options. It's not the cheapest place and the friendly chat from the owner may mean it's not the best place for an intimate date, but nice for a place to go with friends
Cotto in London always is good value for money and friendly and coureous owner and employees. They make all feel like you have known them for years.
Do try it when near Waterloo Station
Cotto restaurant near Lambeth North station is a brilliant place to go for people with allergies. My mum is coeliac and sensitive to lactose, and this is one of only two restaurants we've found where she has a choice of dishes and is never ill after eating. For those that can eat anything, there's a wide choice and the portions are hearty. Staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Cotto is conveniently located, cosy and the service is excellent.Portions are small and the 4 cheeses pizza could have been renamed 2 cheeses!but apart from that I would recommend it specially if you are on a gluten free diet as the menu and variety of gluten free dishes is excellent.
Cotto, near Lambeth North
Second time we've been and we had a good experience again. Good service and food and decent value. Two of the main dishes were initially not hot enough when they were served, however staff were apologetic and this was very quickly rectified on request.
Excellent family restaurant-very authentic
As usual good welcome and satisfying food
We love Cotto's and this was another great meal - excellent food and great value.
Cotto in Lambeth is a rare find - a local, family run Italian serving up good food. Started with the bresaola - which was a very generous portion. And followed with the crab ravioli. Again a very generous portion. Lovely staff (mainly family). Good pricing and interesting for anItalian gluten free options - incredible. Don't be put off by the laminated menus - this is a little treat of a place.
Cotto was a nice family run restaurant. Good for catering for vegetarians and gluten-free diets
Very good pizza and tiramisu at the gluten friendly Cotto restaurant in London:)
Cotto in Westminster Bridge Rd, London, opposite the Lambeth North tube was real find. The food is Italian and exceptionally good from a wide menu of standard Pizza and Pasta, as well as meat and fish dishes. I had spagetti putanesca with extra chilli, and that was superb. Others all praised their choices. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A special feature is that almost all the menu items are available in Wheat Free versions as well, which was great news for my wife.
Cotto (Lambeth) was great. Pizza was good and traditional. Marinated olives were lovely. Service was very friendly and helpful.
Good Italian lunch, generous portions and tasty, at Cotto near Lambeth North tube.
The welcome to the resturant was warm and friendly and staff very attentive. Unfortunately the food was a little to salty for all of us- we all had different pasta dishes- it may have just been a one off with a slightly heavy handed chef. The food was edible- just at the top range of salt tolerance for us. Word still recommend for a more authentic Italian experience outside of Italy!
Cotto is a friendly family run place with nice comfort Italian food. Also huge range for those with a wheat allergy.
Cotto is a hidden gem in the Waterloo area, particularly if you are celiac or gluten intolerant. They offer gluten free pizzas, pastas and other dishes...which is so hard to find, even in London. The staff are very helpful and the food did not disappoint. Would recommend this restaurant to any celiacs craving pizza!
We really enjoyed dining at Cotto. The food was tasty and the choice of antipasti and main courses very wide.
The bill was slightly more expensive than I expected, but the portions were generous.
The owner made us feel very welcome. We'll be going back.
Near Lambeth Bridge and Lambeth North Underground, not too far from National Theatre. Excellent food, very nice service, good prices. Great for a pre-theatre dinner.
The food was lovely, the portions large. It is a lovely place to go for a normal dinner but wouldn't go for a special occassion as it was quite basic. Excellent for gluten free though.
Stay away. Family birthday for 16 overseas visitors. Waiter was v nice, but the owner was a nightmare. When we inquired as to why the air became uncomfortably smoky upstairs, he barked about a small fire, don't worry about it, wasn't our food ok so shut up. Then when he slipped a bread and olives charge onto the bill (bread was hand-offered, no mention of cost, not everyone had any but were all billed) proceeded to yell at us. Seriously yelled. Food was ok for some not great for all
Cotto - London Waterloo
Family-run Italian trattoria by Lambeth North tube. Excellent home-made pasta and pizza and a great selection of gluten-free dishes. Good range for vegetarians. Delicious crab and lobster ravioli, lovely tiramisu and tartufo. Very convenient for the Old Vic and South Bank (about 10 minutes walk) and a charming, low-key vibe. A real find and highly recommended.
Cotto in Waterloo, London...
Nice food and pretty good service, but we were really put off by the fact that they charge £2 for the bread and olives they put on the table at the start of the meal. when they did this, i thought how nice, but then they charge at the end of the meal! so we didn't leave a tip, and left with a bad feeling...
Lovely restaurant good food and service will be back BP
Greeted by a somewhat angry-looking Italian man. Service was rather appalling - a dessert was almost dropped onto one of my friends and waiter was nonchalant about it. However, the food is fairly good, well-portioned, and reasonably priced. It is a fair walk to the Southbank, but exactly what the diners need after a hearty meal at the restaurant. Ambience was great, if you speak Italian.
What a find! A simple Italian restaurant with good fresh food and a varied menu, especially for vegetarians. Great for a catch up with friends where you can relax and chat without shouting over a room with people packed in like in many of the chain 'Italian' restaurants. Very good value, will definately be back.
As usual, a good Italian meal at reasonable prices. Warm welcome and good service.
Chose this restaurant for a meal out with friends because it was the top-rated in the Waterloo area. It doesn't disappoint, with a relaxed atmosphere, great value menu (save yourself for the mint ice cream dessert!) and attentive service. Would recommend.
Very nice restaurant, good food for vegetarians (there were 2 in the group), friendly and accomodating staff. Unfortunately they messed up my lamb order and I had to send it back 3 times...you have to be very specific when ordering how you want any meat dish cooked! Otherwise very good!
We very much enjoyed our visit to Cotto, in Waterloo. The service and food were great. We would visit again when we are in the area.
Three of us had dinner at Cotto in Waterloo, London. A very welcoming family restaurant with real Neapolitan charm and local dishes. Wine list well-priced with Southern Italian and Sicilian wines. Food is robust rather than sophisticated but pizzas were good.
The food was authentic and delicious. The service was amicable and very efficient. highly recommended for a cheap meal out!!
Nice friendly place and good, if unremarkable, food. Interior is rather scruffy and certainly not a posh venue!
I went to Cotto near London Waterloo with 4 girlfriends and we had a great time! The staff all speak Italian, so it feels like you have been transported to Italy. The staff are very friendly and accomodate for food allergies (the menu has pizza that is gluten free!).
Nice little Italian. Good basic food. Plastic tables and chairs so it's not pretending to be posh. I'd recommend it if you just want to have an nice filling meal but not if you are going for a special dinner out.
