First visit to Food for Friends in Brighton and we had the 2 course lunch for £11.95. The food was excellent, we had the soup, stuffed mushrooms and the chocolate torte. The service was good and all the staff friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a mix up with order which caused a slight delay but it was dealt with pleasantly and we were offered free desserts to compensate. The best vegetarian meal we have had out. Highly recommended.

Excellent friendly service. Reasonable value.

Food for Friends, Brighton, priovided a well-cooked, tasty 2-course lunch for £11.95, in a pleasant, light room with excellent service.Soup and leek-cheese bake main both delicious..

Excellent food and fast and very friendly service!

We had an excellent meal at Food for Friends, certainly not just for vegetarians.

Food for Friends is a pleasure to eat in but we left feeling a little bit disatisfied this time almost as if the dishes just needed a bit of extra umph. It doesn't help that we bought the cookbook and are now enjoying this type of food regularly at home. We will certainly return though.

Wow! Heaven on a plate (well, several actually) for vegetarians at Food For Friends in Brighton. Being a regular at Terre a Terre in Brighton, last night I was seduced to try FFF due to the £19.95 for 3 courses offer. Very happy I did - what amazing combinations and cleverly balanced flavours! My two carnivorous companions were equally impressed. I thought Terre a Terre had the veggie market sown up in Brighton but there's definitely room for both.

Food for Friends Brighton, Another delicious meal with a great selection of organic wines and cocktails on offer. It can be pricey though!

The best food I've had in a long time, who knew vegetarian food could be sexy. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Slightly pricey.

Food for Friends in Brighton was as usual very busy and energetic. The meal was delicious. There is not much room for manouevre with small children though if yo require high chairs etc.

This is the first time I have been to a vegetarian restaurant: and Food for Friends did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. A good reminder that you don't need meat to make for variety and a tasty menu.

Food for friends in Brighton was a good venue, very good value for money and great cocktails but the food didnt blow me away.

Food for friends is excellent in terms of cuisine and service. Prefer it to other similar places in Brighton

I went to Food for Friends in Brighton this weekend (March 2012) - had a great time, fantastic food and excellent service. I would thoroughly recommend you give this a go, I'm vegetarian but it's so good that even committed carnivores must like it too.

As well as great food they also have a nice winelist and cocktails. The waiting staff were knowledgable and friendly - my second visit here and I'll definitely be back.

Food for Friends Brighton - Very tasty (even for a typical meat easter). But not cheap. Our main waiter was very indifferent, not even a smile. The other waiters were very friendly/ & helpful.

We went to Food for Friends in Brighton on a Monday night, and it was very busy! As usual the menu didn't disappoint despite it being the limited menu as we had selected the 2 courses for £11.95 offer. We chose startes and main courses, with a view to seeing how we felt about dessert later. My husband opted for soup and stew, whereas I went for pitta and dips followed by a tofu stir was delicious! Sadly there was no room for dessert though!

"Simply wonderful" sums it up. Fabulous, tasty food, beautifully presented and at a very reasonable price.

So delicious you forget you're eating a healthy vegetarian meal.

Brighton's Food for Friends is rapidly challenging Terre a Terre for the title of the town's best veggie restaurant. My wife had a delicious wild mushroom soup, followed by butternut squash crumble. My ricotta and spinach bake was fabulous and the loaded potato skins that followed were more than enough. Great value on the lunchtime set menu, and well worth picking up their cookbook too.

We have eaten at Food For Friends in Brighton many times and always enjoy our experience. This time was no exception.

Excellent food & service

verfy nicely presented - think Terre a Terre is slightly better but a very pleasurable experience

Booked here for a party of 3 carnivores on the basis of recommendations online. Was not disappointed. Great food. Loads of choice. Buzzy atmosphere but not overwhelming. Can see why it was booked solid.

Had great window seat on a Monday night at Food for Friends. Parmesan beignet for main was delicious. Friend had stuffed portobella mushrooms which were also very good. Good selection of drinks. Great service. Im not a vegetarian but the food was so good that this didn't matter.

Delicious starter, main and dessert. Lovely atmosphere. Slight issue at the beginning as our server didn't know of the Top Table offer, but accepted it on seeing the email I'd received. Friendly staff, although we felt a little rushed. Will recommend to friends.

Always fantastic food and attentive service, will definitely be back!

went to Food for Friends in Brighton for dinner last night. My friend and I arrived after a long days shopping and were treated so well by the staff from the minute we got there. The food was excellent and the menu well explained. We both had the halloumi cheese tandoori which was gorgeous! Wine good and very reasonable too. Staff even called a taxi for us to get back to the station! Restaurant in the ultra trendy south lanes area. A very enjoyable evening.

This was my first visit to Food for Friends in Brighton for a couple of years and it was just as good as I remembered. The food was inventive and of excellent quality and the '2 courses for £13.95' offer was great value for money. I'll definitely be going back again soon. The only issue was that I was too cold in the front restaurant which is mainly glass so if anyone suffers from the cold like I do I recommend they ask to seated at the back.

Great food, service and atmosphere with live music. Took my girlfriend for her birthday dinner and she loved it. We had the 2 course set menu.

Following a rather frosty welcome we enjoyed our food-a lot. If you are planning on bringing a child to this venue make sure they know in advance, it is not a particularly child-friendly place. The service was quite slow too. Nice interior and atmosphere on the whole though.

The atmosphere was lovely, the waiter was excellent and we felt well looked after. The food was well-presented and paced at good intervals between the three courses, and the wine was grand! The toilets were clean, and overall two thumbs up!

Great food and atmosphere, service could be better.

Went to Food for Friends on a Friday and the atmosphere and food were both good. Both our mains (the risotto and the beignet) were very good and reasonable value. I would happily go again.

Food For Friends is an excellent vegetarian restaurant, with an interesting menu full of tasty treats. Highly recommended.

Visited top table with a friend for dinner. I'm vegetarian and really enjoyed the food, as did my friend, a keen meat eater! Definitely something for everyone.

Superb Thai platter starter with a tongue tingling green curry cup and crunchy sweetcorn fritters to sesame encrusted Mirin marinated tofu served with so noodles and a refreshing salad dotted with pickled ginger. The sticky toffee pudding was to-die-for with rich fruity flavours and a condensed caramel sauce. Wine wasn't too expensive with a good bottle of South African Chenin Blanc at £20. Service at Food for Friends in Brighton was friendly and attentive. Room a little hot for our preference.

As always the meal and service was excellent. Our one concern was tables are very close together and the noise level from a neighbouring party was really obtrusive - but will recommend on the innovative food, great cocktails and good value set meal at £20 for 3 courses

Very good veggie restaurant. Great location, difficult if your partner is a big meat eater as they will probably feel cheated. But I really enjoyed it and the portabello mushroom main course was amazing

I was really impressed with Food for Friends (Brighton), I don't usually go to just vegetarian restaurants, but after a recommendation from a friend I thought I'd give it a go. The food was really good, and I didn't even miss the fact there was no meat!

Good veggies.

Food for Friends has been repainted and had the loos refurbed since our last visit. Tasty nibbles to share (of olives, dips, nuts, bread) come in vast quantity, so bear in mind when ordering. Cheerful service on a busy evening made for a fun meal. While the dishes are anything but low-calorie, a vegan will be deliriously happy: red-blooded carnivores will have to look elsewhere for the flavours and textures they revel in. There's a fairly priced wine list and the puds are ace.

We dined in food for friends yesterday through top table and had the set menu. Busy and popular, it seemed good valu for money. My friend enjoyed her food however my starter was saturated with a vey acidic dressing which made it inedible for my palate. The corn fritters again were not great. Perhaps just a matter of personal taste but not worth almost £50 when the entire meal consisted of a bunch of lettuce leaves. Restaurant itself was enticing but service was very slow.

Nice food, restaurnat has a funny layout but waiter was friendly and well-informed about the menu. Fair bit pricey though.

Really great food and atmosphere. Definitely try the chilli fired tofu to nibble on before the 3 course set meal which probably had the best options on it anyway so was good value for money……drinks did hike the final bill up though as they were expensive in comparison to food. Vanilla, basil and cracked black pepper ice cream was amazing and waitress was bonkers!

Found Brighton's Food for Friends restaurant to be inviting and well-thought out. The range of dishes was incredibly good with veggies, vegans and coeliacs all catered for. Bloody Mary Gazpacho especially delicious. Serving staff were attentive and helpful. Will definitely visit here again to try more of their exciting dishes.

The delicious food didn't disappoint (apart from tofu salad with no tofu, which was quickly put right!). Starters & mains much more of a success than puddings - from the £19.95 3course menu the chocolate torte was too rich and the gooseberry and elderflower cobbler desperately needed a spoonful of sugar to make it palatable. The waitress who served us was cold, although we received a warm welcome from other staff & would recommend.

Delicious, well thought out and filling Veggie cuisine.

Food for Friends was an ideal luncheon place: casual with an interesting menu: the food was very tasty and service friendly.

Great food at a good price. Friendly staff. Would not hesitate to go again.

This is a really exciting restaurant and as a vegatarian I felt completely spoiled. The menu was really creative and we struggled to choose. Our waiter was great and our food was amazing
