One of the very best, carefully crafted Chinese meals that I've had in a long time. I cannot recommend the sesame prawn toast higher... Truly fantastic, fully flavoured and exceptionally well presented by the chef. The service also deserves a mention; attentive, prompt, helpful and unobtrusive.

A very special find.

This was a lovely resturant. We went on a monday night & it was very quiet. The staff were very nice & informative. The food was good - we had the set meal for two & there was too much to eat! I would recommend this resturant.

Squid was delicious, but some of the other dishes were disappointing - the satay sauce was bland, the pork wasn't very interesting.

Service was excellent.

Quite impressed with Gar's Chinese restaurant in Brighton and would go back. Excellent service and good food quality.

Fantastic food, service a bit slow on a v busy night

Gar's Chinese Restaurant in Brighton is always worth a visit. On this occasion, we enjoyed the £30 per couple (including a drink) menu. Although restricted in scope, this menu offered more than adequate choice and the food was excellent. Recommended.

What a great idea thank you Toptable I came across you by chance while playing on the net. Fabulous promt professional service from Toptable all details sent to my mobile and laptop. Our first visit to Garrs recomended by friends lovely eating experience, helpful attentive saff excelent food we chose the set lunch menue perfect portions £10 per person. We chose the house wine served along side the table in a wine bucket nice touch, our glasses refreshed fequently. Lovely

We went to Gar's Chinese in Brighton on a Wednesday night before 7pm, and the first thing we noticed as we were shown to our table is how noisy it was! There was a private function in the room nearby and it was very loud. However, the food made up for it! I have to say it was the best prawn toast I've ever had, and my husband said similar about his squid starter. We had a winter warmer menu offer, so 2 courses for £14pp and first drinks a £1. Overall a good experience.

I took a party of ten to Gar's in Prince Albert Street, Brighton and couldn't have asked for a better evening. The service was excellent from the start, the food was well presented and very tasty. If you want an enjoyable evening in a good setting with high quality food, try Gars.

Soft shell crab and beef carpacio we're both good starters. Unimpressed with sizzling beef fillet though. It was served in a gravy boat, not very sizzling and a bit bland. Tasted more like poor english steak house than Chinese. However i think this dish was an unfortunate choice. Good overall and recommended. Service and cleanliness were good.

The food was very good, the service was excellent and theportions are large.

Nice environment. Smiling, helpful staff. Lovely food beautifully presented. A joy.

I dined at Gars in Brighton last night. The food was great, the staff were very friendly and had a great atmosphere. Meal for 2 came to £50 for 2 of us and we chose from a 2 course set menu and also ordered quatre of duck. Would definetly go again.

Gar's Chinese was one of the best Chinese restaurant I have been to. Would certain go again when I am in Brighton.

Gar's Chinese, Albert St, Brighton. Visited on a whim and wasn't disappointed. Two courses +glass of wine. Excellent value. Well presented. Me, salty chilli deep fried squid followed by sea bass. Him, spare ribs then beef. Served with Chinese cabbage and rice. Good value for money.

Gars in Brighton - always an excellent recommendation for dinner, the food is top quality, service is good and it's a guaranteed safe bet for a great night!

Gars, Brighton

We went here for lunch as a family and Gars did not disappoint. The food, as always, was scrumptious and the service was wonderful.

Totally recommend!

Gars, Brighton.

Staff were very friendly. Although on arrival we were told that the special offer finished at 7pm, and it was a common mistake toptable made. An embarrassing way to begin our meal.Gars has been known as Chinese fine dining, unfortuneately not now. Chicken over cooked and dry on satay. Squid over cooked and rubbery. And a beef dish inedible, smoothered in overpowering sauce. Not the delicate flavours we remembered from previous visits.

We went to Gars in Brighton for an anniversary, and found it full on a week night, which is a good sign! Went for the summer offer and paid extra for duck too. The food was nice but not amazing, on a par with most good chinese restaurants, not greasy at all. Portions were quite small- sea bass had just one fillet in the fish and a small chicken breast in the drunken chicken. The staff were very attentive and polite. A nice restaurant but not quite as romantic as hoped.

Went here for the first time, the food was lovely and the restaurant was lovely as well. Was quite expensive though but worth it

Another great night!

Booked last minute for Gar's. Food was excellent, even better with the TT offer. The ribs were lovely to start with, wished there were more of them. Then along came the crispy duck, which was shredded in front of us. Could it get any better? Yes. The Cantonese Beef and drunken chicken were fab. Would recommend a visit here when your passing.

As always, the food was excellent, and given the price, extremely good value. By ordering from the set menu, we found that we had fewer starters which meant that we actually had much more room for the main course for a change! Throughly enjoyed the food and will be looking to go back soon.

Excellent meal for a reasonable price

Had the set menu at Gars in Brighton. Excellent value and good sized portions.

Great dinner

Went for the summer offer and had 3 courses plus a glass of wine for £18 and we weren't disappointed. We added the crispy duck and the food was delicious. Service was good, restaurant wasn't too busy for a bank holiday. We will be back!!

Tasty food with lovely flavours. Nice, modern décor and the service was very efficient. The set menu has a nice choice of starters and mains (5 options for each). All in all, really good value for money and I'd definitely go back.

Fantastic evening, great value for money and the service was wonderful. I can't wait to go back!

Went to Gars Chinese in Brighton for the special offer meal. The food was very good and represented excellent value for money with the TT offer (3 courses and wine for £18). Recommended.

Excellent meal with great service. the Salt and chilli squid was as good as ever! We have the 3 coursed for £18 (£5 extra for the crispy duck) which was excellent value.

Staff at Gars in Brighton didn´t recognise our booking initially, then after some delay found our name. Food was delicious but very expensive, portions were small. Service was average, nothing special.

Despite the fact that we were 30 mins late for our reservation, Gars in Brighton were very accommodating. The service was good, staff very pleasant and the food excellent. Well worth a visit.

Gars, Brighton

As always, excellent food. The only problem is leaving enough room for the main course after you've stuffed yourself on the amazing starters! Gars definitely serve the best prawn toasts in town.

Great! Quiet as it was a Sunday. Recommend the squid and the ribs. Good house white. 2 courses for 13.50 was excellent value.

We were kept waiting for half an hour as our table was not ready. There didn't seem to be enough staff, the staff were professional not friendly. The food was excellent and the portions generous.

Another great meal from Gars. Good service, friendly staff. Great value.

Lovely decor. Decent food though starters a little too greasy and mains a little samey. Nice staff but not great at managing when busy. Use good quality meat / seafood + everything looks good. At the expensive end but worth a visit due to setting + lack of better alternatives. Bring back choys!

Everything was perfect, wonderful food and great atmosphere. The best Prawn Toast I have EVER had. The one thing that I liked about Gars Chinese Restaurant in Brighton was that you weren't rushed. We had a wonderful evening and would definately go again............hopefully soon!!!

This is the 2nd time we have been here, the food was superb again. Sitting downstairs, a draught was felt but it was a cold evening. They were very busy and the service was OK, not brilliant. Still thought it was very good and would go again.

dinner for 2 - great, as per usual, Gars, Britghton - highly reccommended.

Gar's is really busy at weekends but the staff are on top of it - as soon as you stop a waiter they attend to you - we had excellent 'drunken chicken' and the pork was delicious - sweets are good too especially the strawberry ice cream with shortbread and the fritters - the gents loo is weird - with metal buckets - fun though!

Gar's Chinese, Brighton. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant, especially if you're looking for something a little more adventurous than sweet and sour chicken balls! The starters are amazing which does unfortunately mean you tend to over eat and not leave enough room for the mains. Two dishes that are a must have are the seabass steamed with ginger and spring onion and szechaun steak. The only downside to this restaurant is the slightly lack lustre service.

Gars Brighton. As usual very very good!! The lobster was delicious.

Great food and lovely atmosphere. We'll be coming back again.

Gars Chinese - Brighton When we got to the restaurant, we were given a different offer of 2 courses for 2 people plus a bottle of house wine for 35.00 which was excellent. All the food was gorgeous. My least favourite dish that we chose was the Drunken Chicken but the King Prawns more than made up for that. Everything about the meal was lovely (including the toilets which were really nice!). Would definately recommend,

great central location, v quiet at lunch and ended up going for a £10 set menu for 2 courses which was good rather than stunning - overall a nice place for lunch or dinner but wouldn't rave about it

This was my fourth visit to Gars. A quiet Sunday night (Hallowe'en). Chef's feast for 2 was huge (bigger than I remembered - perhaps we were served more because it was quiet?). Attentive, helpful service. Food as good as ever. Loved the toilets - unexpectedly trendy. Excellent value.

Another great night at gars had some friends down and they loved the food the sharing platters where great for starters and the main course where tastie with lots of flavour and plenty to share for the 4 of us.

Great food and service as always - particulary loving the seafood and ambience.
