Hotel Du Vin Brighton Excellent food and service, we will be back!!

The mains were fantastic- and the Sommelier was outstanding as well. Very disappointed with my starter though- potted shrimps- which were bulked up by a huge amount of butter, rather than prawns! The dining room is beautiful and bright, it is a great place for a weekend lunch!

We ate at Brighton's Hotel du Vin & Bistro. The atmophere and ambience lends itself well to couples. The starters of Game Hock and Risotto were delicious, as was the mains of Barberry Duck and Belly of Pork. We were only sad that we didn't have room for the desert. Highly recommended venue for georgous food and romance.

Hotel du Vin Brighton has a great wine list and good food. Quirky old building.

This restaurant is so worth a visit - the food is delicious, the staff attentive without being intrusive and the restaurant has a lovely ombience which was perfect for a romantic dinner for two! We are so looking forward going back!

Hotel du Vin is always reliable - you know the menu will be interesting, the food excellent and the service prompt and friendly. Always highly recommended!

Hotel du Vin Brighton Good wine list and food. Friendly atmosphere

Sund. lunch with Mum; Staff helpful& friendly. M had cured meats with 'Manchego & olives' - I think we could just about spot a shaving of manchego & 1 thinly sliced olive amid much salami (being cheaper than manchego I guess) & Beef apparently v. tender & M enjoyed food. I had goats cheese & fishcake; roast pots most excellent ; all very flavoursome. I wine sent back. Bill arrived incorrect by £60+ ! & took 2 attempts to get right hence rating. Not a great end to an otherwise v. pleasant lunch.

We had the Food for Thought menu at lunchtime and have enjoyed the promotion at a number of the bistro's but as the summer has progressed the menu has dumbed down from being excellent in Poole to somewhat mediocre in Birmingham and also here at Brighton. What was a cafetiere of coffee in Poole is now a tiny cup in Brighton. The choice of dishes also seem to lack the same quality. Service started off very well but trailed off once other diners came and this we have noticed elsewhere too.

Perfect meal, great service and ambience.

The restaurant of the Hotel du Vin in Brighton was delightful!!! The bar is absolutely gorgeous, the food great and same for the wine. Service was very attentive, all is all a wonderful experience!

Hotel du Vin and Bistro in Brighton was ok, not what I was expecting or up to the standard of the Hotel du Vin in Bristol. The food - steak was quite fatty and the chips were super chunky (more like bricks). The service was good, and there was a good wine list. Overall slightly disappointed. I think there are other better value restaurants in Brighton that are independent and don't rest on their name.

Hotel du vin - Brighton - Lovely sunday lunch. Starter and dessert were excellent. Service a bit slow a times, so be patient around 1/2pm on Sundays.

Lovely place to eat. Very friendly staff, unusual decor.

HdV. Excellent.

Hotel du Vin is always a safe bet in a new place for a decent and reasonable meal. The Brighton staff were very friendly and reacted well when a misunderstanding meant that we did not get our main courses as quickly as we should. This defused a potential source of complaint. Certainly we would visit again.

Hotel du Vin abd Bistro in Brighton was a pleasant place to meet for lunch but the set menu was not very imaginative. The food was well presented and cooked and the wine which was part of the deal was very good for a house wine.

HdV.......Very good Lunch.

Hotel du Vin & Bistro continues to provide good quality food and service.

Excellent value lunch at the Brighton Hotel du Vin made even better by really tasty plaice and pots as main course and the offer of a bottle of very decent house wine to accompany

We went at lunchtime and had for the "food for thought" fixed menu - 2 courses plus wine and coffee for £35 - and added pudding. I had mackerel pate, Chicken Kiev and almond and apricot tart, my dining partner had mackerel pate, pork belly and creme brulee. Food all very good. Wine was the house Merlot, also fine. Service was slightly slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy, but otherwise very good and overall very good value.

A good lunch at Hotel du Vin, Brighton. We had the Food for Thought offer and it was great value. Service very good and attentive.

Hotel Du Vin, Brighton would be my kind of restauarant, if we had the time to enjoy it. Visiting from London, a friend and i booked for a (not that late?) lunch for 2pm. upon arriving (slightly late) i was told that last orders had been called and we would have to hurry. The food was average at best and service was as luke warm as the veg. After a recommendation by a friend as having a good reputation for sunday lunch, which for me should be a leisurely and realxed affair, we were disappointed.

Hotel du Vin Brighton - as always, good food, great wine list and nice ambiance.

This is one hell of a bargain. Would like to make it a weekly treat. Lovely place, lovely meal and lovely service. Lovely!

Hotel du Vin in Brighton was a breath of fresh air. The ambience was lovely, light and airy for a summers evening and the service was really good. Had the 2 courses plus a bottle of wine and coffee for £35 - excellent value!! The food was delicious (both had ham hock terrine to start) I chose the chicken kiev with hand cut chips for main course which was delicious and my partner had an enormous pork chop with herb potatoes and gravy - we couldn't have fitted pudding in!! Would def return!!

The food was lovely and the service was great but beware of the extras. Our £35 offer ended up to be £70. Water costs, the bread costs and we drink rose wine which cost us an extra tenner because the offer is only red or white wine.

We went to Hotel du Vin & Bistro, Brighton to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. Although it was a wednesday they were plenty of dinners in the restaurant giving it a nice ambiance. The food, wine and service were of the same high standard we've always experienced. It's definitely one of our favourite Brighton restaurants for special occasions.

Quite formal atmosphere and mostly couples but staff were friendly too. ordered steak medium rare which was decidedly medium and rather wished I'd sent it back but didn't. Creme brulee for desert was heaven on a plate.

Hotel du Vin & Bistro in Brighton. We had a very pleasant meal with service that was attentive but did not feel hurried at all. The steak was beautifully cooked and tender. Flatteringly dark ambiance throughout! Would recommend to a friend.

we visited Hotel du Vin in Brighton for dinner with friends. We had a very pleasant evening in comfortable surroundings

Food and service as always superb, had the food for thought offer which is an amazing offer including their very good bottle of house wine. Highly recomended.

I was a little disappointed with my evening at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton. I went with three friends after seeing an offer on Top Table for 2 courses, coffee and a bottle of wine for 2 for £35. The service was ok but not great, when I asked for a cup of tea rather than coffee after the meal the waitress was very unhappy about it (it is only some hotwater and a tea bag so no more expensive than a cup of coffee!). The food was ok, with the offer we could choose one of 3 starters and 3 mains.

Fantastic food and great service. Maybe a little pricey but worth it for a special occasion

Food was fine but service a bit poor.

Food and service were both excellent. Mum loved her Mothers Day treat!

A home from home. The Hotel du Vin's priority and talent is comfort. The decor has a grand old institution ambience, without being for a second stiff or pretentious. You don't need to polish your shoes to come here, on the other hand you can expect slick service and reasonably sophisticated food served in generous portions. Pleasant, and taking coffee afterwards on the leather sofas of the next door lounge, pleasanter still. The temptation is to doze sumptuously off. I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Located very close to the sea front in brighton, hotel du vin is a lovely little hideaway place. The venue is very nice and welcoming. We only went during the evening and it gothic lighting was great. I’ recommend this to anyone wanting a romantic meal as the setting was perect.

Hotle du Vin and Bistro, Brighton. A really great restaurant, just off seafront. Nice welcome and excellent service, we both had a beautiful ribeye steak and thick cut chips. Good wine list but very expensive. Enjoyed our visit.

I think I had big expectations. It was nice, dont get me wrong, but it was not "wow". Staff was very polite but not very knowledgeable about food or drinks. Ambience was fantastic, food nicely spiced and tasty. It was a good night.

Very good service, lovely food - thoroughly enjoyed. Go and you won't be disappointed.

Hotel du Vin in Brighton proved to be a good choice of venue to eat. Set in amongst the famous Brighton Lanes area this restaurant had a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food was well presented and well cooked but a bit on the pricey side in my opinion. We would however eat there again.

Hotel Du Vin Brighton: Food was amazing, tried steak tartare and gravadlax to start, seabass with risotto and steak with chips for main. All incredible flavours. Took a while for the somellier to take our wine order but it seemed unusually busy, perhaps as it was 'Beaujolais Day'. Definitely will be back but maybe after my purse has recovered!

Hotel du Vin & Bistro in Brighton

Ambiance, service and food excellent.

A very good lunch with matching service in a pleasant setting. Du vin is perfect for a celebration.

I friend recommended me this restaurant and so I thought I'd try it. First of all the service was really good, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing apart from the boeuf bourguignon which was overcooked, but the lovely waitress got us a free dessert to apologize! Next time I'm in Brighton I will definitely go back to the Hotel du Vin...

Bistro restaurant- Hotel Du Vin, Brighton. Warm, friendly welcome, expertly drilled staff. Food absolute delight, starters of crostini with tomatoes and haloumi and olive salad far greater than the sum its parts might suggest. Main courses of chicken and brill were extremely tasty and portions generous. However, whoever at HQ decides to charge £2.50 for some bread should go straight to the naughty step. shall not return until the policy changes.
