This is a smart restaurant. The quality of cooking was excellent, and there is a very good french regional wine list. However, for the considerable price, and given the low-cost ingredients of the good cooking we enjoyed, more than a hint of vegetables would have been appropriate and welcome. The white wine was less chilled than the service. I accepted the wine in the expectation an ice bucket or effective cooler would be proffered; but they were not, and the wine became warm.

Four of us had dinner at La Garrigue on 25th May and the experience was a delight. The ambience is comfortable, the staff are charming and the food superb. Would definitely reccommend this restaurant.
La Garrigue - Edinburgh Jeffrey St: Venue and table was nicely presented, there were 8 of us. Service was good and menu was varied. Food was OK, and did not live up to reputation. Soupe de poisson was very poor and duck pie quite flavourless. Deserts were good except crem brulee which was very wet. So, not sure we will return
La Garrigue, Edinburgh
Absolutely delicious food, good house wine, attentive friendly service, nice setting - even a good vegetarian dish.
