Food was good. restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I had the Skate which was very tasty .. although there was rather a lot of butter covering the fish and all the veg... ok if you're not worried about the calories.
I dined at the MC Cafe Bar and Grill when I was travelling to Manchester for work. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was of decent quality. Unfortunately, I arrived too late for the lunch menu and too early for the dinner menu, but there was a reasonable selection of food (mainly snacks and smaller meals) to choose from. I would also recommend the venue for drinks with a small group of friends with finger food as an accompaniment.
This was our first visit - we tried it one rainy Sunday after shopping - 3.30pm.(We have eaten in the restaurant previously and loved it). As a result it was very quiet with only another couple eating and a few having cocktails. The menu was limited and perhaps some dishes we ordered we might not have selected on a larger menu - but the food was absolutely super. We could only manage a starter and main course - no more room. Risotto was superb. Shame not more busy - it didn't spoil our visit
A lovely meal at MC Bar & Grill in Manchester. Excellent food and splendid service.
MC Cafe Bar & Grill, ABode Hotel Manchester: Couldn't fault the decor, ambience and service. Good quality food, although steak was more rare than medium. The menu is limited, however, and the prices somewhat over-inflated. Starters and desserts are particularly expensive, given the meagre portion sizes.
food was excellant just took a long time to order
Breakfast at MC Cafe bar and grill, manchester.Great breakfast help yourself from the continental buffet, plus full english. Didn't like the sausages they were to spicy, cooked tomatoe did not taste to good. Expensive for what it was.
We dined at the MC Cafe Bar & Grill Manchester, good selection of meals. Although they have discontued the Mixed Grill that I had had on a previous visit. As it was lunch my husband had the chicken burger, which looked nice and he liked the chips. I had salmon en crout, but did not like the spinich it came with, the salmon was well cooked, it was accompanied by seasonal vegitables and new potatoes. Sevice on the slow side in fact we waited nearly an hour for our meal. But they were very busy.
Dined from the lunch menu on Saturday with two friends. The food was as expected at this type of grill restaurant however the service (front of house and waiter) was rather amateurish bordering on the chaotic, e.g. did not provide a menu for all diners, did not have offer sauces to accompany a roast meal and finally the final bill was missing our meals (which we corrected)!
Our visit to MC Bar and Grill was most enjoyable. The food was delightful and the service excellent.
We went to the MC Cafe Bar and Grill in Manchester for the first time earlier this month and opted for their Grazing Lunch menu (3 or 4 'courses') with a different wine to compliment each dish. We were placed in their stylish basement fine dining restaurant. The food, wine and service were all fantastic. The best dining experience we've had in many many years. The olive oil cake with pistachios was 'to die for'. 4 courses with wine for £30 was excellent value.
We had a great meal at MC cafe bar and grill at Abode Manchester. Every course was well cooked and presented. Superb service.Highly recommended - relexed and atmospheric.
I love the restaurant very much. The services was really good and the waitress always gave us a big smile. The price was slightly cheaper than MC Restaurant but the food are fantastic. My friend ordered a Tuesday Steak Night set and he totally love it. All in all, it's a great place to hang out for a dinner and is worth the money.
MC Cafe Bar and Grill proved an excellent venue. Superb food and marvellous service. Many thanks.
Entered the restaurant and was told we had no booking, this was eventually corrected (without apology) Menus were handed to us with no explanation of the specials etc. Partner ordered steak to be told it could only be cooked 1 way due to its size. Staff were unattentive throughout....
Great place, and excellent food all round. They had a Tuesday night steak for £18.95 with a drink which we took advantage of, as the steak alone is normally well over £20. Our only criticism was that the service was slow at times, and it resulted in the bread that we had ordered while we were waiting for starters came about 20 seconds before the starters and the desserts took 15-20 minutes to arrive.
MC Cafe Bar & Grill Food and service excellent, drinks a little on the expensive side, you expect to pay more in these places.Prefer the MC Cafe bar & Grill to Michael Caines Fine Dining down stairs
We turned up a little early, but it proved to be no problem. We were shown to a table and then given lots of attention from the waiting staff. We had the meat platter to share (between 3), which was good, nice variety of stuff and a great start to the evning. All three of us ordered steaks, all were cooked to order, and went down very well as they tasted great. Washed down with some fantastic champagne, that wasnt too pricey, all in all a great place to go and eat with friends.
Food Excellent - Service Excellent & great place to eat.
MC Bar & Grill London. My wife and I visited here on July 16th 2010. We booked for 8 pm and were welcomed by the manager( a very polite and attentive Indian. We thought he was an Italian!!) It wasn't busy' but the manager continued to look after us for the duration of the meal. He immediately brought the bottle of Prosseco which was part of the meal deal. Can't remember now what exactly we had to eat, but I do remember it was very good and sent our compliments to the chef ( who is Italian!).
Lovely ambience at the MC Bar & Grill in the ABode Hotel Manchester
MC Café Bar & Grill, Manchester is great really tasty well presented food!!!! You must go!
Mc Bar & Cafe Grill, Manchester - Sunday night dining was very quiet and service a little erratic, however food was very good although starters very small (starter was literally one roasted scallop!) but overall good value. Wine list was short but with reasonable choice and very reasonably priced. Bar lacked a little choice for pre-dinner drinks but otherwise a good evening and would certaily visist to try the sharing platters for lunch.
The MC Bar and Grill , Manchester is a very welcoming bar and restaurant. The service was exceptional. The starters were very good as was the main course especially the mixed grill. The desserts however were disappointing. Great rioja.
Our meal at MC Cafe Bar & Grill was a most enjoyable experience - delicious food and extremely courteous service.
MC Cafe Bar Manchester - was not quite sure what to expect as previous reviews were mixed, however great food and service.
MC Care Bar was a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. Service was speedy, food was of great quality. Loved the home made chips.
Food was okay- not a huge choice. However, the waiter was horribly rude, which ruined lunch completely. Won't be back.
Very nice atmosphere food small portions but classy presentation
MC Cafe is a great place to eat in Manchester and with the 2 courses for £9.95 or 3 for £12.95 it's amazing value. Although the name totally put me off to begin with (sounding as it does like Mac Cafe), it's actually a really lovely place and quite classy! The food was DELICIOUS. The main courses were a bit small but with two or three courses, it was actually the perfect amount of food. Wasn't mad keen on the music but would still highly recommend especially at it was a total bargain!
Our booking at MC Cafe hadn't come through but they found us a table. Food was very good quality but they seemed to have run out of a lot of dishes and we had to ask for them to do replacement dishes on the set menu. 2 courses for £25 deal (for 2 people) is good value for money but portions are very small. Not somewhere to go for a romantic meal in terms of atmosphere - felt like a cafe, quite informal. Not as good as City Cafe in City Inn opposite. Champagne bar downstairs is very nice though.
Lovely tasting soup and main course fish but small portions of vegetables (just potato) so not too filling at the MC Cafe Bar. Small portions of standard cheeses (no choice) and soft biscuits were dissapointing. The ambience and great service made the occasion relaxing .
MC cafe bar is certainly a great place to go for good quality food without having to break the bank! Fresh ingredients with great wine, what more can one asks for??
MC Cafe a nice place a to dine, ditto other comments about smallish portions (sticky toffee pudding should have been labelled 'bite sized') but nothing wrong with quality or service. Can always get a bag o' chips on way home.
The MC Cafe Bar (attached to the ABode Hotel) is a great place! Surprisingly quiet considering the great meal we had. We were expertly looked after by Mel and the Manager. Food was great, portions were slightly small, but 2 of us had 2 courses each and a bottle of wine for £25.00 so we can't complain!! As in previous reviews lamb shank was excellent, but could do with a bit more veg! Wine great (especially considering some of the awful promo stuff you get!) Service great, really enjoyed.
Only went at lunchtime and was quick and good value
Great .Would go back.
Had a really lovely meal, the cafe bar has a really relaxed atmosphere, the food was very good, we ate off the menu which gave 2 people 2 courses and a bottle of wine for £25 which was a bargain!! I had the black pudding, which was lovely, if not a bit hard to eat out of a bowl, and the Lamb for mains which was perfectly cooked, but had no potatoes or veg served with it. Overall really good food, small portions but great value for what you get.
The atmosphere in MC Cafe Bar is poor for dining - feels like a hotel lobby. Not so bad though. The food is excellent, and the toptable deal is very good value. Excellent service.
MC Cafe Bar is great for a quick meal before a night out. The portions are on the small side but the food is good so ideal for a light meal. The £25 deal is very good value as the bottle of wine (certainly the red) is actually quite good!
MC Cafe Bar was an excellent venue for our girls lunch. Due to the size of our party we ate from the set menu which had 3 choices for each course and the food choices were very good value for money. Our waiter was very customer orientated and nothing was too much trouble. Would definately recommend and visit again for lunch.
The MC Cafe' bar was very pleasant to have a meal in; my starter was let down by the heavy amount of lettuce in the Black Pudding starter I had, more Black Pudding, Apple and Bacon would have been better. My wife had the soup and her only complaint was the small portion. We both chose Lamb Shank as mains, which was lovely fell off the bone but hardly any vegetables on the plate. for sweet I had a lovely piece of Bakewell Tart and my wife had sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream icecream.
MC Cafe Bar Manchester - we had three courses for £12.95 and the quality of the food was excellent although portion sizes were very small. Will definitely go again and try the a la carte and hope portion sizes are a bit bigger. Can't understand why it wasn't packed to the brim on a friday night when the food was so good. Waiting staff were polite but a bit confused as to which table had ordered which meal. We ordered a 2006 wine but it was 2007 when it arrived!
MC Cafe. We opted for the 2 courses and a bottle of wine for two for £25 deal. On paper this looked good be in reality the food was far from great. Starters were ok, black pudding salad. However the main of Lamb Shank was over cooked and came with hardly no veg whatsoever. When we complained about the lamb there was simply a shrug and no apologie at all. Shame. Nice restaurant, however it needs to improve its food some what....
We had a lovely lunch at Mc Cafe Bar after deciding to opt for the 2 course special offer. Two niggles: Portions were rather small and the restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime. Waiting staff couldn't have been friendlier.
One of the best restaurants in Manchester. Fact.
Our visit to MC Cafe Bar was an enjoyable experience. The menu was fairly limited but the standard of the food and service was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. Will visit again when in the area.
Fantastic food. Though we weren't on a friday night and it was dead. Great value for money especially on the special offer.
