This restaurant was very nice with good quality service. It is a little hard to find, but the food was very good quality with reasonable portions.

We had a lovely meal. The food was of excellent quality - presentation, taste and value for money. There was lots to eat.... probably too much! We ate from the 'early' menu and were not disappointed. The service was prompt and pleasant. We would return, and would recommend.

Excellent value - 3 courses and glass of wine £16 per person. starters and deserts particularly good. Service pleasant and attentive and just the right speed. A real hidden gem.

This was my second visit to mp's. I didn't think the meal was as good as at my first visit. The special offer menu, I think, was the same as in January. If not the same, it was very similar. I had the phesant once again but this time I found the meat dry and I found only one piece of chorizo which accounted for the lack of taste in the dish. I was disappointed.

Very pleasant staff, though restaurant has a hoyrl feel about. Good choices on discounted menu.

Good service by friendly staff and decent value. The food was very average though and for this reason we will not be hurrying back.

MP's Bistro, Edinburgh

Very poor atmosphere. Lacklustre staff. Food nondescript.

We had a lovely meal at MP's Bistro in Edinburgh. We were the first table in and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was lovely and excellent value. We will definitely go back!

MP's bistro in Edinburgh is a cosy restaurant in a charming hotel on the edge of the old town. The food is good Scottish comfort food, well prepared and very well priced. The service was superb, our waitress,Baiba, looking after the whole restaurant with pleasant, friendly efficiency. We will certainly be back, indeed having been shown one of the rooms by the receptionist we may even stay there.

I ate here with my parents: it's a nice spot, tucked away down an alley - v hidden so doubt would get passing trade. Recently opened - our mains were v good (chicken with haggis and whisky sauce and guinea fowl) but starter un-inspiring as were choices; only one wine by the glass (red/white/rose) weak. Excellent value (offer); service v good. Ideal for pre theatre at the playhouse but not sure i would go out of my way to return - unless/until they up the ante on the food and wine front. Nearly.
