Delicious food and a warm welcome. Portions are a nice size - it's good to leave pleasantly full and able to finish everything. If you're very hungry you'd probably want a starter. Pleasant surroundings and friendly service.

We had dinnner at Namaste Kathmandu in Edinburgh. The food was flavourful and tasted like it had been freshly cooked for us, not cooked earlier and left to sit in the kitchen keeping warm, particularly the popadoms & the nan.

Although it was extremely busy, we six enjoyed an amazing meal. Service was prompt and friendly. We didn't feel rushed in any way. Everyone at the table exclaimed that they were impressed with the quality of the food, the portion size and especially the taste and would return when again in Edinburgh... 4 were from Canada, and they do plan to return! Thank you to all.

Enjoyed a very pleasant meal at Namaste Kathmandu, Edinburgh. This restaurant is handily placed for those attending Fringe festival events at George Square. The menu has a small range of Nepalese courses - we enjoyed the crab curry - and some more easily recognised Indian favourites. The service was friendly and attentive.

Took the team for a meal there. Excellent food and service. Despite being a large group food was prompt and excellent.

Good value for drinks and food.

We went with a group of 12 to celebrate the engagement of a Nepalese friend and the service and food were fantastic - they even played our choice of songs as background music during our meal. Highly recommended.

I have been here twice recently and my opinion is unchanged. Again, I was eating quite early in the evening and I can't complain about anything, the food just wasn't great. Chicken on the bone this time, I had Lamb the last time. Service was good if a little hurried this time.

I came here with very high expectations based on some feedback from other who had eaten here. Was it too high? It was early on a Sunday evening and I wonder if that was the problem. There was nothing you could complain about but the food was only OK. No one in our party of 4 was oohing or ahhing. The flip side to this was the service which was truly excellent and attentive in an unobtrusive way. Last time I ate in this site was 30 years ago I shouldn't wait so long, again.

Namaste Kathmandu have introduced a new menu with more Nepalese dishes. Gave some of teh new dishes a try and we were not disappointed. It is a nice touch being able to select how hot you wanted each dish. Absolutely no complaints. Fantastic food, great service and now more choice!!

The quality and portion size is excellent for the cost. the staff are realy pleasant and welcoming and nothing is a bother to them. And their mango chutney is fantastic!!! Fully recommended.

Nameste Katmandu Edinburgh. Had a lovely meal, good service.

Unfortunately we could not make the restaurant and cancelled at the last minute. The staff were very understanding and pleasent about it. Hope I can go soon.

Went to Namaste Kathmandu with a group of friends visiting Edinburgh Festival. The restaurant is perfectly sited, close to the main Fringe venues. It was very busy and although we had booked in advance as we were on a tight schedule the table wasn't ready. We were also disappointed to discover that there was no Gurkha beer available, despite being prominently advertised on the menu. The food was good and plentiful and the service attentive.

When we arrived at Namaste Kathmandu Toptable had not informed them of our booking. Eventhough they were extremely busy they managed to fit us in with very little waiting. The staff were fantastic and the food outstanding. Extremely good value for money. We will definitely be returning.

Namaste, Edinburgh. We booked this place having tried a superb Nepalase in Dublin before - chasing the dream perhaps?

Thankfully, we weren't disappointed. My partner and I had a special fish starter for 2 which was delicious. real sense of different spices, without overpowering the fish (which was very fresh). My partner then had chicken and I had the Lamb Special (makhani i believe) and again both were very very good. A cut about your standard high street curry house. Recommended!

We were taken our table immediately at the Namaste Kathmandu, Edinburgh however service was rather slow as the restaurant was fully booked. The food thankfully was fabulous. Good size portions with quality ingredients.

Always a treat, the staff here were most obliging and careful with their guests this evening. Always recommended.

Had a fantastic meal in Namaster Kathmandu. The restaurant was full which is always a good sign of good food. The service was a little slow but that is probably because there were three large parties in. The staff are extremely polite. Always a pleasure eating here.

Pleasant Restauraunt in the center of the old town. Excellent food, and very friendly and polite service. We had a few problems in our party during our dinner there and the way the managers and staff dealt with it was nothing short of amazing.

Namaste Kathmandu Edinburgh The staff were friendly and helpful. Rather a long wait for the main courses. More choice of side dishes on the menu would be nice, we asked for dhal as a side dish but it came as a main. Nice cosy restaurant for a relaxed evening out. I chose veg options but the combination of navratan korma, spinach and dhal was far too bland I have had the korma before but this time it seemed a bit pasty in texture and taste. The wine was good at £11.95 and the kulcha was nice.

Went here with some friends. The restaurant was about half full which was a good sign for a Tues evening. Between us we had a good mix of Indian and Nepalese. Momo was a great starter (like Nepalese Gyoza). Service was attentive and friendly. One of the waiters accidentally knocked my beer into my dinner but was quick to sort it out and provide a free replacement main course which arrived promptly. Bill was on the high side for a 'curry' but was not ridiculous given the quality.

Another fantastic meal at Namaster Kathmundu. Service and food fantastic as always. This is becoming a regular eating place for us.

namaste kathmandu, forest road, edinburgh brilliant food and their ghurka beer goes great with the excellent cuisine. no skimping on the meat as have experienced in some curries and all the harbs and spices were fresh and lovely.would reccomend!!

We have absolutely no complaints about the standard of service and the quality of food at Namaste Kathmandu. Our favourite curry house in Edinburgh.

Another fantastic experience at Namaste Kathmandu. Highly recommended.

A very nice restaurant with a really wide selection of food. The Nepalese is well worth a try!!!

Another fantastic meal at Namaste Kathmandu. This is now becoming a regular eating place for us. Never disappointed.

Despite being very busy, the service and food at this curry shop were first class. The staff are attentive and responsive, and the food very good. The nepalese specialities are particularly fine.

We were very impressed with Namaste Kathmandu, Edinburgh especially when we discovered they had Oyster Bay sauvignon at only £13 a bottle! The menu is divided into Nepalese and Indian fare and there's a good choice. Ours was served in brass dishes so we could share. As you would expect there is a fantastic choice if you are vegetarian. Service was speedy, as we were on a clock, but without being rushed. Would definitely recommend this place.

Another fantastic meal at Namaste Kathmandu with impeccable service. Such fantastic value for money.

I have no idea why this restaurant was only rated 7.7 at the time of writing. The food is outstanding, the Piro Kasu Ko Masu Lamb is one of the most flavourful delicous dishes I have ever tasted (if a little hot) and the waiting staff cannot do enough for you. We would highly recommend Namaste Kathmandu restaurant to anyone living in or visiting Edinburgh.

Namaste Kathmandu, Edinburgh:

Tasty food, pleasant staff. A member of our group had been to Kathmandu and said the food reminded him of it there, so I guess it's authentic! Well worth a try.

Great place for a curry. The reviews were very good and we weren't disappointed. The chicken karahi was particularly good. Friendly and efficient service too.

Second visit to Namaste Kathmandu - both very enjoyable. The food is fantastic, but some different Nepalese dishes to try - yum! Very reasonably priced too, highly recommended

Enjoyed the Namaste Kathmandu well enough and would recommend it to all. Quick, friendly service without being overbearing. Prices for food reasonable but Cobra beer a tad expensive. I had a Napal lamb curry and it was excellent. Going back next Saturday!

Namaste offers an interesting range of Indian and Nepalese dishes. The food was all pretty tasty. The room was quite noisy, which was fine as I was in a large group.

Starters were expersive for what they were, main courses were a bit pricey but big portions. Main courses were good though.

Namaste Kathmandu was absolutely fantastic. I am a coeliac (gluten intolerant) and so am used to not having very much choice. I could have anything on the menu baring the Naan breads! It was absolutely fantastic. The food was also excellent and more than I could eat. I would highly reccommend it.

Excellent food. Something different taste I found in Namaste Kathmandu. A quite place and good service. ll definitely go back.

Visited Namaste last night. We had to wait ages for our "reserved" table but it is the Edinburgh Festival and everywhere is packed and chaotic. The staff were charming though did not know their food! Food was nice and acceptable. Will re visit on a less busy time.
