We had lunch at 1212 and dispite the place being a little quiet the food was very good and the Toptable deal was great, would go again but perhaps in the evening.

Somewhat surprising location surrounded by government buildings off Whitehall. Nevertheless very popular and a friendly, classy spot for a pre-theatre meal. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Not brisk, but fast enough. Allow an hour and a half.
This was a fantastic deal, great food and service although for a five star hotel, the wine glasses were not removed from the table and the napkins were not put on the lap, other than that a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be back
Visited One Twenty One Two, Westminster with a friend for a lunch date. The set menu was fairly limited although the food was very tasty. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Although the decor of the restaurant/hotel was very modern it wasn't as impressive as I would have expected for the area.
An excellent meal at one twenty one two. The food was great value, the wine list varied and of good quality, and cocktails in the Equus bar are a must.
Booked the pre theatre menu for a birthday treat. The entrance and general atmosphere of the hotel was very grand and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Food was lovely, and great value for money (£20/head for 3 course menu) however wine was very expensive (cheapest glass £8!) and they took quite a while to serve food meaning we had to sacrifice our dessert in order to get to theatre on time. No compensation for this was seen on the bill which was a bit disappointing.
Great food at 212 horseguards hotel.Excellent service.
One Twenty One Two is a stylish venue. The food was excellent - beautifully cooked and presented. The offer was great value and it is to be recommended.
Excellent service and delicious food - would go again!
Excellent food and service. Great vaule.
The only problem is that it felt like part of the hotel and does not have the feel of a restuarant.
The food and service were very good. The only thing to consider is that it is a place for slow food - so if you book it before a theatre show - take extra time. We had to rush in the end due to train problems which was a bit of a shame.
Great food, recommended
My Mum and I had lunch at One Twenty One Two in the Royal Horseguards Hotel, in London's Whitehall, taking advantage of the Toptable offer. The restaurant itself is lovely, and the staff are friendly and attentive without being at all pushy. The food was fab - I had the chicken and onion pie for my main, which was deconstructed with a little rectangle of pastry on the top. The sticky toffee pud was yummy for dessert, and the complimentary petit four were great. Will definitely be going back
The ambience is superb as was the lunch. My husband had a la carte as he did nt find anything on the Table D'Hote he liked. The staff are very friendly, service impeccable and food first class. Will return very soon.
One Twenty One Two at The Royal Horseguards Hotel off Whitehall is the ideal location for a quiet unhurried meal in serene surroundings with superb service well worth the 12.5% charge added to the bill. The food was quite nice and perfectly presented in small portions, except for the cheese selection which was generous. 3 courses for £19 deal is good value. However, drinks are expensive - £5.50 each for coffee and a bottle of water. The wines at least £7 for a small glass are excellent quality
Nice location near the station, good food and nice environment
Excellent evening for Christmas Eve. Great food, nice atmosphere.
Overpriced even with offer. Service great, food average.
Nice enough but not as good as i expected from the reviews. It felt very much like a hotel restaurant (which it is) and there was no atmosphere (to be fair we were eating pre-theatre, so very early). Service was excellent. The food was nice bit not exceptional and portions were tiny. 2 courss for £19 did not feel like much of a bargin, in fact I felt a little ripped off. Cheapest wine £33.
We had a two-course pre-theatre dinner at the 1212 restaurant at the Royal Horseguards Hotel on 9th January 2012. Welcome, service, and food were excellent. Perhaps because of the early timing there were few people in the restaurant, but for us that added to the calm, relaxing atmosphere. We could not fault anything.
Arrived for an early lunch at One Twenty One Two in London before our scheduled visit to the Da Vinci exhibition. Had the most beautiful 3-course meal from a small but varied special menu. Service was excellent as was the wine - though very expensive (cheapest bottle is £30). There was some confusion over the bill as they weren't aware of the Toptable offer. Fortunately we had a print-out of our booking and everything was sorted quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended on a special offer!!
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at One Twenty One Two in London. The food was delicious and the restaurant was very comfortable and relaxed. The portion sizes were fairly small, so I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to someone wanting a plate piled high with food, however I found that at the end of 3 courses I was comfortably full. I will go back to this restaurant again.
We totally enjoyed our dinner at One Twenty One Two. Had the pre-theater set dinner menu, the food was delicious and the service was first class. The decor of the restaurant was so classy and it was quiet and private too. I have recommended it to my friends and we will definitely return soon.
One Twenty One Two at Royal Horseguards: We had 3 days in London for our 40th wedding anniversary. The highlight was to be a London show but this was surpassed by the pre-show meal at 1 20 1 2. The ambiance was superb and the quality of the meal equalled this. It was one of the best meals that we have ever had at a very reasonable price. The staff treated us like royalty although we booked an offer through toptable. The menu was limited but this does not matter when the quality is this good.
We took advantage of the Toptable pre theatre menu offer at One Twenty One Two and were not disappointed. The chicken "Pie" was excellent and not a sign of pastry in sight! Attentive service from Manuel, Antonio and Sandra was spot on and not intrusive. The venue is quite an oasis of calm near the buzz of Trafalgar Square and ideally suited for local theatres and the National Gallery.
Christmas season's lunch at One Twenty One Two was a lovely experience. The decor is elegant and tasteful, the service excellent and food tasty and beautifully presented. Recommended for a special occasion.
All courses were excellent, as was the service. We also had a great wine, quite exceptional and whilst we went for one of the cheaper bottles on the expensive list it was well worth it.
One Twenty One Two by Whitehall was a pleasant surprise, with some great food on the toptable offer. The service was somewhat overattentive, although I suspect that was more a case of new-restaurant-syndrome. The ambience was a little disappointing - a bit more conservative than I would've liked, and no real view of the river or river gardens - a shame given the location - but overall I enjoyed the experience.
A lovely evening, very nice place. Definitely will be back.
Excellent food in lovely surroundings.
We wanted to get a restaurant close to Whitehall for a good lunch and 80th Birthday. The restaurant 1212 was in a 5 star hotel and had excellent decor. It felt nice and relaxed. The service was very good. We chose from the hotel menu (offer from toptable). All the diners really enjoyed the food and was just right portions for a lunch. We had 3 courses and overall it provided very good value for the money and setting.
1212 Booked the Festive Pre-theatre Dinner, had 3 courses & a bottle of wine . It was of good value & our starter and mains were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, polite, efficient. I felt a bit let down with the desserts but the chocolates that came with the coffee made up for it. We will definitely go back, perhaps choosing from their full menu and asking to a table further in, closer to a window.
treated some friends to lunch at the Royal Horseguards Hotel restaurant. the food could not be faulted. The service was a bit OTT but overall it was a very pleasant experience
We went on the 23rd December for lunch and had the whole place to ourselves! The staff were very attentive but not overly and the restaurant looked superb. We had a main course and a dessert each and both came within a reasonable time and tasted sublime, would definitely go again!
One twenty one two at the Royal Horseguards hotel was fantastic. Amazing food, superb service and a beautiful venue. I would highly recommend this offer.
The restuarant provided a very enjoyable and relaxing lunch for us prior to going to the theatre.the friendly and efficient service proved a hit with us and coupled with good food and wine we all had an excellent time!
