We enjoyed eating at Spoon. Lovely food and a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The pre-theatre menu is excellent value. Perhaps the service could have been a little quicker - they seemed short staffed for a Saturday evening.

We enjoyed a pre-theatre meal at Spoons. We loved the quirkiness of the cafe environment, for example the mixed seats and crockery. It is a big building and although it was not full, it still a nice warmth and atmosphere. The pre-theatre menu is limited to 3 choices for each course but there was soemthing which suited all of our party. The food was well-cooked, nicely presented and most of all extrememly tasty!! All of us cleared our plates. The waitresses were very friendly + efficient.

The Spoon Cafe Bistro was a delight .. great food and service anc loved the retro feel of the place..most interesting toilets!!

Spoon cafe was excellent as always. Went for 3 courses as an anniversary treat and still didn't break the bank b

Food was lovely and great atmosphere, although it was a little quiet.

Maybe introduce a few evening offers?

Thanks.

Very good value pre theatre menu at £10.95 for 2 courses. Staff very pleasant.

Delicious! The spoon cafe bistro in edinburgh served delicious food in a quirky casual restaurant. I would definitely go again.

Spoon Cafe Bistro is a lovely, quirky restaurant, full of character. We enjoyed our meal and would recomend the signature coley dish - delicious. There was a good selection of good value but tasty wine and the dessert selection was also good. They could have a better veggie selection though and we were dissapointed to find that they do not do their set menu during the festival as this was pne of the reasons for us selecting this restauraunt.

Spoon Cafe Bistro in Edinburgh was lovely food and good sized, well spaced out tables. The staff were lovely and were very apologetic for the unbelievably noisy group that came in a while after us. Ths was the only down side to a lovely dinner and we chose to go somewhere quieter for coffee and desert.

We ate an evening meal in Spoon in Edinburgh. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. Perhaps there could be more veggie options on the menu, however. The portion sizes could also be more generous.

Spoon Cafe Bistro Edinburgh - wonderful venue. Lots of light and space, screens dividing tables giving an element of privacy and a lovely mixture of furniture gives this restaurant a unique quality. The food was superb. Cauliflower and cumin fritters - nice and spicy and cooked perfectly. Leg of pork to follow was melt in the mouth, delicious. Excellent house white and oatcakes and goats cheese finished off a delightful dining experience. We will be back!

Visited the Spoon Cafe in Nicholson St, Edinburgh on a Wednesday for a late lunch. The upstairs facilities were airy and spacious. Decor has a vintage / recycling focus. The menu and specials have a few suprises and there is a nice choice for both vegetarians and meat eaters. Service was very pleasant.

Spoon Cafe Bistro. Edinburgh. A bit ramshackle for our taste. Food was more home cooking than restaurant. Thought it a bit pricey for mismatched china etc. Still our first opportunity to try squirrel !

Spoon Café Bistro - Edinburgh

Perfect location for pre-theatre meal for the Festival Theatre. We had the pre-theatre menu (3 courses for 13.95), which was great value, possibly not such good value if you go al a carte. Nice atmosphere, was starting to get busy between 5.30 and 6pm.
