Fabulous food, good service. Lovely booths, really lovely night out and good value at £100 for 2 (3 courses and coffee and pre dinner drinks!). Only negatives: toilets, needed checking they'd been left in a mess and it was a bit cold in there, red wine was even a little chilly! Definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Went for a meal for a colleagues leaving do on the 22 dec. The bill came to £40 each for 2 courses and a glass of wine each with some canapes to start which seemed quite steep. One of the canapes had a garlic cream which all of our party found disguisting. The rissotto's were overseasoned and tasted mostly of salt. The black pudding and scallop starter was good, but overall our party felt it wasn't the best experience. It is a shame as i have had good food previously.

Very good meal. Excellent Service. Good selection on the menu and would definitely visit again.

As usual interesting and delicious cooking in attractive surroundings. Cocktails in the upstairs bar not as good as in the past. Great evening though.

The New Ellington, Leeds. Our second visit. Standards maintained. Excellent menu and food. Service superb. It has to be the best value, high quality city centre restaurant.

For the first time ever at this restaurant I was not impressed. The food was average, steak tough and most dishes cold. The service was average and yet again ironing table cloths, please take note you shouldn't do this when customers are dining. I was told the chef had recently changed but I really hope they can improve again as this is one of the best settings in Leeds.

I have visited the New Ellington quite a few times and the food was as good as usual. Unfortunately the service was not as expected, we were waiting for our table with no explanation then told a large party was being dealt with, not attentive throughout the meal and then ironing table cloths at the table next to us!

The Restaurant at the New Ellington Hotel, Leeds

If you are looking for a very special restaurant this is definitely it. I spent a long time researching restaurants for my wife's birthday and this one certainly didn't disappoint. The food and service were exemplary with the plush decor and jazz singer in the background (live not recorded) providing a stunning sound track to the evening. It was really good value for money too, approximately £100 for two. Highly recommended !

Excellent as always - tried a couple of new gins - hmmm working my way down tha gin menu thanks again for a special evening

The New Ellington Restaurant is very elegant. The seating is not intrusive of other diners. The food was excellent. Not cheap, but nice for a special occassion as ours was. The Jazz singer was and added nice touch, especially when she sang Happy Birthday to my Husband.. We would definitely dine here again. Also the waitress that served us was really nice.

Still the best in Leeds, had the early bird menu this time and every dish was excellent. Service best i've known!

Food so fantastic, as usual, despite being full we had to try a desert too!

Fantastic venue, loved the surroundings. The food was fantastic along with the service. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Leeds.

Without question the best restaurant in leeds, Michelin star style food at reasonable prices.

Fantastic family meal for a large party. Service seem to really struggle with the amount of people there, far more so than when i go with my partner. However as alwaya the food and drink was sensational.

great food, nice venue. Was good the first time we went but is noticeably better now. Looking forward to going back again.

Monday night dinner for my wife's 30th. Drinks in the lobby beforehand were good with the barman recommending a great gin for a G&T. Ate off the a la carte menu which earned us a complimentary bottle of house red wine as per the toptable offer. Great service and food, 2 courses each plus a great sticky toffee pudding for the wife with a round of drinks and bottle of wine for £60. Fantastic.

We ate at the New Ellington restaurant in Leeds on Saturday evening, first impression was that the receptions area was lovely and confortable and we were made to feel very welcome. We arrived at 8.30 pm, our table was booked for 9 pm but we were not taken to our table until 9.30 pm. The food was excellent but again the service let them down, when we wanted to pay our bill we had to attract the waiters who were behind a screen.

Keeps getting better
