Great location and venue. Very much out of the ordinary. Food was excellent and uncomplecated.

Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh. I've been going to this bar for years but rarely eat there, it will be happening more from now on! Great lunch time food!
Loved the decorations. The soup and chicken was really good. Will come back again!
Food was fine, basic pub grub. The service was terrible, waitress was more interested in speaking to her friends than serving our food. Took 15 minutes to get our bill, making us late for a show. Not impressed.
Great place for cocktails or a drink, but not so good for food.
The voodoo rooms in Edinburgh is hidden away of the main street, however it always has a great buzz! Staff are attentive and friendly, the food is upper class pub food and delicious! 10/10!
Voodo Rooms Edinburgh
Starters excellant Scallops cooked to perfection unfortunately main courses not so good 2 members of my party ordered seabass then after order went to kitchen they were told there was no seabass so they then had to choose an alternative, 5 of us ordered ribeye steak and none of them cooked to what we had asked for we were then told they didnt have any steaks left! Also the music from the bar could be heard in the restaurant which made it difficult to have a conversation.
Really enjoyed our dinner at The Voodoo Rooms. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. Highly recommended.
voodoo rooms edinburgh lovely meal good service central venue
Burger AND chips were a bit on the rare side and not up to the Voodoo rooms usual high standards and the waitresses seemed like they'd had a long day.
Very friendly fast service in the main restaurant of the Voodoo Rooms in Ediburgh on Saturday. We went early evening but would love to go back to soak up the atmostphere of late night Voodoo. Vegetarian pasta dish was delicious. A limited selection of desserts but hey you can't go wrong with sticky toffee pudding! Not the most sophisticated menu but very tasty. Minor down point in that the first glass of wine at the bar wasn't chilled enough but barman tried his best to chill the glasses.
The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh had a great atmosphere, the food was also good, above average. Staff was also friendly.
Amazing decor and surprisingly totally unpretentious! Not expected from the played down entrance.
Food and wine was lovely, and cocktail menu looked amazing.
Service was quite slow to start, but bar and restaurant were heaving, so somewhat expected.
I would definitely go back. Very cool cocktail bar and restuarant.
The Voodoo Rooms doesn't just offer your regular cocktail selection..the "Benzini" has popping candy around the rim of the glass! The food was fantastic! The Butternut squash soup was thick and luxurious and both the vegetarian cous cous burger and the beef burger were homemade served with tasty chips. The service is always a little slow so I wouldn't recommend if you were in a hurry.
We booked an early evening table for two at the Voodoo Rooms. As we had met friends, we asked if another four could join us. The staff immediately accommodated us. They were very helpful and attentive. Three of the diners had steaks and they were all done to perfection. The scallops were also superb. The decor was sumptuous and the ambience very relaxed. Would definitely recommend it and will return.
Voodoo rooms do a great burger or veggie burger and the cocktail collection is large and not necessarily the usual offerings.
The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh gave us a very pleasant early evening meal in very comfortable, bright surroundings. Service excellent. Not too sure about the veg burger, though. Just seemed to be stuffed full of polenta and not much veg. Great chips, though!
Wow, Voodo Rooms,Edinburgh. Fab building, decor really cool. Atmosphere was great very buzzy. Meal was lovely especially haggis rolls.Wine good. To top our birthday treat a free glass of bubbly went down very well. Great staff.
Very noisy, with different types of music coming from different rooms, so confusing and inconsistent. Decor good but food mediocre. Would not recommend
Voodoo Rooms Edinburgh! There was a great selection of foods, although when you have a reservation for over 5 they automatically put you on a set menu which is extremely reasonable 2 courses £13.45 and 3 courses £17.45. The at atmosphere is vibrant and the service is good.
Restaurant was very quiet on a bank holiday eve but the food and the service made up for any potential lack of atmosphere. Very nice!
Good food, good service. The restaurant is much smaller than it looks on the photos, and was dominated by two huge tables with a noisy hen party, so hard to judge what it would be like normally. Enjoyed it though!
Great atmosphere with free fringe comedy shows running. Love the decor, very dramatic. Food good, would like to come back at weekend for wider range - choice more brasserie than restaurant but enjoyed it all the same.
Enjoyed a great meal at Voodoo Rooms. We all had something different from the menu and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Service was great, there when you needed them and not when you didn't. Will eat there again.
When I arrived the staff claimed they did not have my top table reservation. Fortunately I had printed the confirmation. They then tried to shove together a couple of bar tables which was not acceptable as I was with aged parents. The manager retrieved the situation by setting up the tables properly. The food was good and service fine. A fine old room now looking grand again. H
There was a group of 15 of us. The food was very nice. The building is lovely. The service was terrible. The restaurant was quite full. We had to repeat our order twice, and the drinks took ages to come. Would not go with a big group again.
Food was great at the Voodoo Rooms, very large portions, great value for money. Service with a smile, ambience was incredible, in this hidden venue in Edinburgh.
Lovely food, wine and surroundings. Service a bit slow.
The voodoo rooms in edinburgh is a nice venue with a nice atmosphere, the food was lovely but the weekday menu was basic and had a limited choice, and the rose wine wasnt very nice. It is much better at the weekend with a more varied choice of menu.
Great fun. We were a big group and they were great. V good value for money.
Special offer quality of food is very good. However, the restaurant was only half full and a 2 course meal took 1.5 hrs...Bit slow, especially if your hungry or trying to get to the cinema, like we were....
The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh. We had a very pleasant lunch, the food was superb, with the staff very attentive. All in all we would gladly recommed this venue for a meal.
Food unexceptional; ambiance and decor outstanding although background music may be too loud for some.
Great service, tasty food and also great venue for live music. Spend an evening at the Voodoo Rooms!
We ate at the Voodoo Lounge in Edinburgh on a recent visit to the city. The food was good and the venue we found quite trendy. We ate at 8 pm and the service was good. Later on it became quite busy and more like a pub with people scrambling for seats. Not for a romantic meal but still had a nice night.
Fiona from Aberdeen
It was a really quiet Monday evening, in fact we were the only couple eating. Nevertheless it was a nice relaxed atmosphere, with good food and good service.
Funky gold and black decor and quite an upbeat buzz. Disappointed by the Xmas menu. Choice was very limited. Fish pate, Chicken Terrine (er,pate again), or vegetable soup. Mains: Turkey etc, Sirloin steak or (yawn) Mushroom Risotto. Hardly inspiring. The sweets were either dark chocolate mousse or Xmas pud / Cheese. Food was quite nicely cooked however. Service erratic, apologies wear thin after the 3rd time.Toilets wrong side of shabby-chic. Needs to decide if its a restaurant or a nightclub.
Very impressed with The Voodoo Rooms. Service was quick even though it was a busy Friday night and food was lovely. Limited choice of 3 items on 2 courses for £13.95 offer but great value and what we got was delicious. Would recommend.
Voodoo Rooms,East end of Princes Street,Edinburgh.Went with fairly large group of friends and had two course menu deal which is a rare deal to find on a mid evening Saturday night in Edinburgh (mostly only lunch or pre theatres).Food good although couple of the burgers were a tad rare.Only bug bear is that if you are by the window in November Edinburgh you might need to keep your coat on!
Good venue, great value and the Bruschetta was very tasty. Service a little slow and got slightly too warm as the bar was getting busy.
We went for the pre theatre meal which was fantastic value. The food was fantastic. Service was a bit slow considering it was quiet. The decor is unusual and funky. The restaurant temperature was cold though. Very good value. I would certainly go back.
Staff were polite and helpful, the food was good but there wasn't a large choice on the specials menu needed more choice for dessert - the food that was on offer was nice and tasty.
The venue was interesting, very theatrical with a great mix of people drinking at the bar.
Went to The Voodoo Rooms with my sister on a Friday lunchtime. We were the only people there for much of he meal, but the layout doesn't make it feel empty as the dining "room" leads onto the bar. Service was perfect, just the right side of friendly. Food delicious and beautifully presented in just the right sized portions. It should be compulsory to sample something from the amazing cocktail menu - I have never seen, or tasted the like! Will definitely return with friends.
Good food at a good price with very pleasent service. Recommended
We didn't end up eating the offer meal as we were a bit rushed to eat a second course, but the food was good and there was a busy, vibrant atmosphere. Good for a well priced meal. Unfortunately the building is covered with scaffolding at the moment which doesn't create the best impression but once you're inside it's quite quirky and cool.
