After attending the Mediterranean Street Food cookery class I have to admit I am struggling to find enough words in my vocabulary to do justice to Jenius Social. If you haven’t heard of Jenius Social yet, you are definitely missing out on something great. Opened just a few months ago this Islington venue is an absolute success.
Founded by Jen, who was brave enough to leave her work in finance, Jenius Social is a venue designed to bring people together through sharing their passion for food. Jenius Social offers a range of events: masterclasses, supper clubs, cookery classes, private dining, bespoke events, an on-site deli & more.
The cookery class itself is interesting and of course, engaging.Head chef Malcolm Emmanueil not only explains and guides group through the recipe but gives useful everyday cooking tips. The Mediterranean Street Food cookery class is one of many that Jenius Social is offering, and the word many might be an understatement.
You can choose from a wide range of events: from wine tasting and tapas evenings to butchery masterclasses, and so this venue offers a lot more than one could expect at first sight.
A very pleasant surprise is the little damage to your wallet : on average a cookery class costs only £50 for two hours, which includes a glass of wine as well as the meal.
Jenius Social definitely stands out from the rest because as the name suggests it’s as much about cooking as it is about socialising. If you choose to attend the event alone, you won’t be left out. And besides being great for those who want to make new friends, it is also great for teambuilding and bonding.
I went home inspired by simplicity of Mediterranean food, good atmosphere and an experience I’d happily repeat.
