28°-50° Wine Workshop and Kitchen, from Michelin-starred chef Aggi Sverrisson, has transformed its Maddox Street downstairs bar into a winter lodge, offering an escape from the Christmas crowds.
Open until 5th January 2017, expect spiced mulled wine, warming wine cocktails and comforting food to rejuvenate your spirit this winter.
Master Sommelier Clement Robert, has created a signature mulled wine featuring Crème de Cassis, LBV Port and Galant des Abbesses infused with cinnamon, fresh ginger, nutmeg and star anise – and no added sugar.
Also on the list is an innovative wine cocktail, The Douro Breeze, made using Graham’s Tawny Port 10 years and Amaretto.
Down in the cosy bar there’s a winter wonderland. Fresh pine, fir cones, silver birch logs and wreaths of dried orange slices with cinnamon sticks are on the walls. Nordic style rustic reindeer and snowy trees add a Scandinavian touch. Frosted pine on the bar with bowls of star anise and fresh orange pomanders add a festive finishing touch.
Guests will also be invited to enjoy a selection of comfort festive snacks and small dishes including: Christmas seasoned pork crackling; roast chestnuts and smoked cinnamon butter; mini bratwurst sausage, sauerkraut and mustard; chocolate and cinnamon with vanilla crème Anglaise; not forgetting, mince pies served with lashings of custard.
Whether guests are looking for a quick bite to eat mid-shop or a leisurely catch up over premium mulled wine in the relaxing surrounds, the winter escape will provide an oasis of Christmas calm only a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of Regent’s Street.
