If you’re now planning a virtual Christmas party at home, or looking for a cocktail with a twist on Christmas Day, and in need of some festive cocktail inspiration, here are some simple and delicious recipes from Sarson’s and Slingsby Gin perfect for making at home this Christmas.
Sarson’s Festive Hot Toddy
Warm your cockles with a Sarson’s twist on a Hot Toddy. A dash of pickling juice adds a delicious dept of flavour to this seasonal cocktail.
· 35ml Whisky
· 35mlnSarson’s Pickling Malt Vinegar
· 70ml pressed Apple Juice
· 1 star anise
· 2 cloves
· 2 strips of lemon peel
· 1 tbsp runny honey
· Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan and warm – do not boil. Once warm, serve in a mug hot toddy glass
Sarson’s Bourbon Sour
Sip on this bourbon sour with an added festive spice from the pickling juice and topped with egg white foam that looks just like the snow we hope to see topping our rooftops this year!
· 35ml Bourbon
· 25 ml Sarson’s Pickling Malt Vinegar
· 1 medium egg white
· 17ml sugar syrup
· Ice
· Cherry
· Combine the Bourbon, Sarson’s Pickling Malt Vinegar, egg white and the sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add the lid and shake for 10-15 seconds
· Add ice and shake for a further 10-15 seconds
· Pour into a small tumbler glass and garnish with the cherry
Slingsby Bramble 75
• 25ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
• 15ml lemon juice
• 10ml homemade sugar syrup
• Prosecco top
Shake and double strain into a champagne flute then top with the Prosecco. Garnish with a blackberry.
Slingsby Mulled Berry Gin
• 35ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
• 50ml port
• 100ml apple juice
• 10ml sugar syrup
• Orange slice
• 2 cloves
• 1 Small cinnamon stick
In a pan, gently heat the above to simmer. Serve warm in a latte glass or mug and garnish with an orange slice.
Slingsby Pear Tree
· 25ml Slingsby Gooseberry Gin
· 50ml Pear Cider
· 50ml Cloudy Apple Juice
Build in a chilled flute glass and garnish with a slice of fresh pair or a candied pair.
