Salt Yard Group, known for its portfolio of tapas bars and restaurants, is delighted to announce that its famous Croquetas Challenge will be returning to London this May after a two-year hiatus.
Promising to be bigger and better than ever, the challenge will celebrate five years of unearthing the best croquetas in the capital with three individual heats taking place throughout the month in the lead up to the final on Tuesday 31st May.
Bringing together renowned chefs and restaurants from across London’s dining scene, the Croquetas Challenge provides an opportunity for chefs to showcase their talents and battle it out to be crowned with creating the tastiest croquetas in town.
This year, Londoner’s will have the opportunity to cast their votes and decide who gets through to the final by booking a spot at the three individual heats with tickets available now via the Salt Yard Group website. Tickets for the heats are priced at £30 per person including eight croquetas and two drinks on the night.
Restaurants already signed up to be part of this year’s Croquetas Challenge include London Shell Co, Opera Tavern, SHUK, Wright Brothers, Salt Yard and Mamma Pastrama so guests are guaranteed to be making tough decisions when it comes to the vote.
Those who earn a coveted spot at the final will have their croquetas creations put to the test once more for the opportunity to win a £250 cash prize and have their croquetas on the Salt Yard menu for two weeks with £1 from every order donated to the chef’s chosen charity.
Since its launch, the annual competition has seen chefs get creative and showcase a plethora of delicious croquetas including a smoked lamb and spiced aubergine croqueta with mint labneh & amber aioli from Paradise by Way of Kensal Green, a caramel apple pie croqueta with cinnamon sugar & tonka bean ice-cream from Rambla and octopus & jamon croquetas with charcoal emulsion & lemon from Ember Yard.
