Burger & Lobster has just re-launched their Soho restaurant, welcoming the public with a brand new look, feel, and enhanced ambience as well as some exciting additions across their menu.
Having celebrated a momentous milestone of 10 years of culinary offerings in the capital just last year, Burger & Lobster has decided to give their iconic site on Dean Street a chic and fresh revamp.
While the classic menu mostly remains the same such as their Nebraskan-Irish beef burgers, lobster rolls and whole lobster along with their gooey lobster croquettes, they are also taking the opportunity to launch some new dishes.
The latest plates include lobster tempura tails – an attractive take on a classy prawn tempura. Lobster tempura tails are served with kimchi mayo and seaweed salt and definitely worth a try if you are a fan of tempura dishes.
Burger & Lobster has also added new lobster mac&cheese to their menu, which is a generous portion of macaroni in a rich lobster bechamel sauce with mature cheddar, crispy breadcrumbs and lobster meat.
The classic burger and lobster combos for those who just can’t decide are still very much a big part of the menu and remain the brands most popular dish. Burger and lobster combo takes me nine or so years back, when Soho branch just opened and we queued outside with my guest to try it.
The Burger & Lobster team has also redesigned the cocktail menu, specifically for the relaunch of their Soho site. The eclectic cocktail list features a wide range of choice, with some cocktails inspired by the energetic Soho streets, such as the Dean Street Margarita and The Liberty to name a few.
The Dean Street Margarita is made with Olmeca tequila, hibiscus and lime, spiced with anchor eyes chilli and served straight up with a tamarillo wheel. It is a little sweet with a slight spice kick to it. And it is pink unlike other margaritas.
While Liberty is more on the refreshing and floral note, it is made with Sapling vodka, Cointreau, Crème de Violette, lemon, butterfly pea and egg white.
The new Soho cocktails will be joining Royal Punch and Taste of Panama, alongside a wide list of wines, beers and spirits under the new décor. The makeover features red booths and shades of navy blue.
“The contemporary navy-blue colour palette was inspired by the coastline of Nova Scotia, where the brand’s lobsters are freshly caught”, says Geila Daughtrey of Rockett Studio, the mastermind behind the refresh.
While the restaurant look has changed Burger & Lobster’s mantra remains the same.
Dino Sura, Managing Director of Burger & Lobster says: “high quality food and service will absolutely remain the same, we are looking forward to the future and ultimately investing in our spaces, and we can’t wait to witness the enhanced experience our customers are going to feel when they walk through the new doors of our Soho branch.”
From November 28th: London’s Burger & Lobster will also be serving festive burger special, stuffed with all the trimmings. £1 from each purchase will be going to StreetSmart UK to tackle homelessness on the streets of London.
The Christmas burger, priced at £24 features a blend of venison meat bred by chef patron of The Ledbury, Brett Graham at Aynhoe Park and Burger & Lobster’s prime beef from family-run farms in Nebraska.
Each patty is sandwiched between Burger & Lobster’s iconic soft brioche buns with lashings of cranberry ketchup, stout-battered onion, thinly sliced pickles, and a choice of blue or cheddar cheese within.
To top it up each burger will be served with a jug of chunky game gravy to pour over, dip and dunk. Each burger will also come with rosemary salt fries on the side.
As well as the festive burger special, Burger & Lobster will celebrate party season with a classic wintertime dessert – sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
There is also a Christmas winter limited cocktail menu featuring the Fine & Dandy: Bombay Sapphire Gin with Falernum, cranberry and lemon.
And Toffee Apple Martini for sweet tooth guests – Absolut Vanilla meets butterscotch, apple, pineapple, lemon and maple for the ultimate winter warmer.
For a little sparkle to the evening there is also Framboise Royal, perfect decadent mix of Champagne, Chambord, and winter berries.
Burger & Lobster Soho has now re-opened on 36-38 Dean St, London W1D 4PS
