Spices join the array of classes available in Sauce by The Langham, from pasta making to kids baking, proper puddings, to masterclasses with Michel Roux Jr
The secrets of Indian cookery lie in the delicate balancing of spices. The new monthly masterclasses with Chef Jitin Joshi at Sauce by The Langham, launching 22 March and priced at £150pp, allow guests to master this delicate art over a half-day cookery class followed by lunch.
Jitin, who has worked at some of London’s best-loved Indian restaurants including Benares and Gymkhana, teaches guests to create some of the most flavoursome dishes from the Indian sub-continent while guiding them on a journey through a whole array of spices.
Held in The Langham’s cookery school, budding spice experts will be taught the pillars of Indian cooking through a menu including the north Indian street food snack of Sweet potato chaat, a south Indian dish of Seabass and lemon rice with chutneys, sauces and sides and a spiced dessert.
At the end of the class, students will savour their dishes over a light lunch with wine. Fit for any palette, all recipes can be customised for vegetarians and vegans. Following Chef Jitin’s masterclass, pupils will leave with boxes full of their dishes, a recipe pack from the day and a Sauce by The Langham apron, cloth, and tote bag to confidently practice their spice skills at home.
Sauce by The Langham is overseen by legendary chef, Michel Roux Jr, and alongside the spice masterclasses, the cookery school offers a range of classes to suit all tastes, abilities and ages, including:
