On Monday 31st July, at The Oarsman, a contemporary bistropub and wine bar in the heart of the riverside town of Marlow, Chef Stephen Terry will continue their Great British Pub Series cooking a one-off menu with Head Chef Scott Smith.
Following on from the success of the spring series which saw chefs Simon Bonwick, Ben Tish and Henry Harris take the oars of the award-winning bistropub, The Oarsman’s founders Nigel Sutcliffe and James McLean are welcoming Stephen into the kitchen.
Currently Chef Patron of The Hardwick in Abergavenny, Stephen’s career spans over 20 years, working alongside the likes of Marco Pierre White at the legendary Harvey’s restaurant in London, Michel Roux Junior at Le Gavroche and Nick Nairn at Braeval Old Mill.
Stephen has since settled in South Wales, finding inspiration in the bountiful produce the country has to offer and which lies at the heart of The Hardwick’s menu. Stephen will bring this same ethos to The Oarsman, working alongside Scott to offer a menu that uses the best of local and Welsh produce to create dishes that will include The Hardwick classics such as confit duck hash with a fried duck egg.
Nigel has also curated an optional wine flight from The Oarsman’s impressive 200+ strong wine list, expertly pairing each course with a wine that compliments and enhances the dish.
The Great British Pub Series with Stephen Terry will take place on 31st July
