Thomasina Mier’s award-winning Wahaca has just opened its second venue in London’s hotly anticipated Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush. She has already won the hearts of Mexican food fans with her market-style street food at the original branch in Covent Garden.
Located on the Southern Terrace, the new Wahaca will offer the perfect escape for busy shoppers and will include the option of al fresco dining in the warmer months. The menu will feature street food favourites like tacos, tostadas, taquitos and quesadillas – ideal for a post-shopping refuel. Fresh guacamole will be made on site twice a day and diners with a sweet tooth can look forward to trying the churros y chocolate – a feast of Mexican doughnuts served with a rich chocolate sauce.
Diners are encouraged to use their hands, share a selection of dishes and explore the menu by choosing an assortment of plates – perfect for families and friends who aren’t afraid to dig in. The restaurant will use only British meat, free-range chicken and pork, and sustainable fish, as well as locally sourced ingredients such as the Devonshire chillis in the hot table sauce.
Alongside the food menu, Wahaca Westfield will offer a wide range of beverages including Mexican beers, a range of tequilas and fresh fruit drinks as well as Wahaca’s home-made Sangrita – a mouth-watering spicy tomato juice traditionally sipped with Tequila.
