South African cuisine is coming to London big-style with the opening of Shaka Zulu in Camden.
Shaka Zulu is opening it’s doors on August 4th and is being billed as a opulent place to enjoy traditional African food; “This breathtaking two-storied venue located in the heart of Stables Market Camden, showcases the best in African cuisine. With a Cape Town inspired fish bar and cocktail lounges overlooking an incredible ornate wood carved dining theatre.”
Menu wise diners can expect to see Seared Ostrich, Kudu, Marinated Springbok and Karoo Lamb all making an appearance. These dishes will be cooked using open fire grills for an authentic African taste.
The decor at Shaka Zulu is set to be a real talking point too, “The scale of Shaka Zulu will be in keeping with the heritage of the great African King. In the main restaurant, a number of wooden carved murals will cover every inch of Shaka Zulu’s walls and ceiling. This is beautifully complimented by an impressive water garden feature, complete with delicate gold-painted tiles and a Swarovski crystal leopard centerpiece.”
Guests at the restaurant will also be treated to entertainment in the form of dancers, drummers and live music.
In keeping with the somewhat regal feel of the venue HRH Goodwill Zwelithini will be officially blessing the premises on August 4th. Plus, ” To provide guests with a truly sensory experience, a number of intimate celebrity hosted evenings have been scheduled especially to showcase Shaka Zulu’s versatile space.”
Shaka Zulu will also boast the UK’s largest South African wine list featuring more than 98 wines, so whatever dish you go for there’ll be a regional wine to go perfectly with it.
