After the success of last year’s lucky dip where two entrants walked away with bottles of wine that each had a retail value of £550, Laithwaites are doing it all over again this year.
Yes, on the Saturday 26th of March you can take yourself to The Arch, the Laithwaites wine store that’s part of the Vinopolis complex by London Bridge and buy a ticket for £5. This will enable you to have a lucky dip selecting a bottle from the 500 mystery wines in this year’s event.
We are told that all of the wines in this year’s lucky dip have a retail price of more than £5 so entrants can’t possibly lose. Quite the reverse, by entering they will be in with a chance of selecting a bottle of some of the finest wines produced worldwide, including: Château Lafite-Rothschild 1er Cru Classé Pauillac 1983 (worth £900), Chateau Margaux 2006, (worth £360) and Chateau d‟Yquem 2006 (worth £195).
The lucky dip starts at 10 am on Saturday the 26th March until 8 pm that same day. We’re told that last year the event was so popular that entrants were queuing around the block to take part and the event as a whole was a sell out. So advice is that you should arrive early to ensure that you aren’t disappointed.
Having had you lucky dip, you, like other Laithwaites customers, will be able to browse the wines on offer in store and sample some of their wines at their tasting table, you never know you might discover something new and exciting there.
Laithwaites’ Lucky Dip, 10am to 8pm, Saturday March 26, 2011. Laithwaites at The Arch, 219 – 221 Stoney Street, Borough Market, London Bridge SE1 9AA
