Codorniu have launched a premium sparkling wine called Reina Maria Cristina – named after the Queen of the same name who in 1987 granted Codorniu the title of ‘purveyor to the Spanish Royal household’. This is a complex cava with toast aromas and tropical fruits is great with shellfish. It is available at the RRP of £17.99 available nationwide from Majestic.

Another sparkling wine is Codorniu Pinot Noir, which was the first Cava to be made entirely from the stylish Pinot Noir grape. It has a great taste of a full range of woodland fruit characters with a crisp citrus finish and it is great with chocolate desserts. The RRP is £9.99 and is available nationwide (in Sainsbury’s, Thresher, Wine Rack, Majestic & Oddbins), and for Christmas and Valentine’s Day in a special edition presentation box, exclusively at Sainsbury’s.
