It’s never too early to start your kids off with good habits like learning to cook healthy meals. And you don’t want to be the one to nag about cleanliness, safety, and thriftiness so why not get your teenager into a cooking class right off the bat. Leiths School of Food and Wine has put together a four-day course especially for 13 to 17 year-olds to teach teenagers basic skills, enabling them to feel confident when cooking for family and friends. And best of all, the courses will be held during school holidays, helping you keep your little ragamuffin out of who knows what kind of trouble, right? Let’s get those kids into a class that teaches them something useful-like cooking for you!
The course starts every day at 10.00 am with a brief summary of the menu and lessons for the day. Students will then cook a two-course lunch which they will sit down to enjoy at 12.30. Cooking lessons will continue each session until approximately 3.30. During these four days, a variety of skills will be taught, including making pasta, baking cakes and biscuits, egg cookery, roasting and soup making. The teachers are friendly, professional and approachable making it a fun and informal environment for the students.
