Réserve des Tuguets AOC Madiran 2010 is one of our favourite wines from Tesco.
Why?
Well, it’s a thouroughly honest example of a French country wine of the kind that goes oh so very well with the dishes we love.
Cassoulet, canard confit, bœuf en croûte, poulet rôti, oh la la,.. you name it.
Made by the tradition-loving Plaimont Producteurs on the borders of Gascony and Béarn in the deepest heartlands of South West France, Réserve des Tuguets features the local favourite grape, the Tannat alongside the better known stalwarts, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
The result is a wine humming with brambly dark fruit and soft, woody tannins that so impressed the Decanter World Wine Awards judges they gave it a bronze medal.
