Whatever mood you’re in Sauza Tequila has created seven different cocktails that might just be the drink you are looking for. As well as the traditional margarita there are plenty of other ways to enjoy tequila, whether it’s a fruity twist on the original margarita, an authentic Mexican Paloma or the timeless Pepito Collins. We tried the ‘Easy Margarita and the Pepito Collins using Sauza Tequila, it does make a great cocktail, the Tequila comes through in a good soft round flavour and it is versatile enough to be mixed any way you want.
Easy Margarita
Why not try the traditional and effortlessly classic Easy Margarita? Simple to make at home the Sauza Blanco Margarita is also available to buy in bars, it is an excellent drink that balances the soft mellow of the tequila with sweetness and acidity from the other ingredients, we loved it.
Ingredients
• 1½ shots Sauza Blanco Tequila
• ½ shot Bols Triple Sec Liqueur
• 1 shot freshly squeezed lime juice
• ½ shot sugar (gomme) syrup
Add Sauza Blanco Tequila, Bols Triple Sec Liqueur, freshly squeezed lime juice and sugar (gomme) syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, and seal the shaker tightly. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Carefully open the shaker and with a strainer, pour into a pre-chilled and salted half-rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and enjoy.
Stinger
If you’re raising a toast to someone special then maybe choose The fizzy Stinger, it might be just the right alternative to the usual bubbly.
Ingredients
• 1 shot Sauza Reposado Tequila
• 1 shot pressed apple juice
• 1 wedge fresh lime wedge squeezed
• Top with ginger beer
Pour all ingredients over cubed ice in tall glass starting with lime wedge, swizzle, and top up with fresh cubed ice if needed.
Paloma
For a true taste of Mexican spirit, the Paloma cocktail couldn’t be easier. Sauza Blanco spiked with fresh lime and served refreshingly long and cool with fresh grapefruit and lemonade.
Ingredients
• 1 wedge fresh lime
• 50ml Sauza Blanco Tequila
• 50ml golden grapefruit juice
• Lemonade to fill
Take a highball glass and fill with ice. Squeeze a wedge of fresh lime over ice and drop in. Add Sauza Blanco. Fill with grapefruit juice and lemonade and gently stir.
Mango Margarita
The fuity Mango Margarita, is ideal for sipping in the sunshine or dreaming of exotic climes when the weather outside isn’t quite so lovely.
Ingredients
• 1½ shots Sauza Blanco Tequila
• ½ shot Bols Triple Sec Liqueur
• 1 shot mango puree
• 1 shot freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1 barspoon agave syrup
Add Sauza Blanco Tequila, Bols Triple Sec Liqueur, mango puree, freshly squeezed lime juice and agave syrup into a clean, empty shaker. Fill with cubed ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Carefully open and, with a strainer, pour into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a mango slice on the rim and serve.
Pepito Collins
For drinks around a summer barbecue perhaps, the smooth and refreshing taste of the Pepito Collins is the ideal cool-down drink. We thought it ideal for those who like less sweet cocktails, it has the warmth of the tequila in the background, great sharpness from the lemon and just a hint of sweetness.
Ingredients
• 2 shots Sauza Blanco Tequila
• 1 shot freshly squeezed lemon juice
• ½ shot sugar (gomme) syrup
• Top up with soda water
Add Sauza Blanco Tequila, freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar (gomme) syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, and seal the shaker tightly. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Carefully open the shaker and, with a strainer, pour over fresh cubed ice in a tall glass. Top up with soda water and garnish with an orange slice in the glass.
Strawberry & Basil Margarita
A twist on the classic, the Strawberry and Basil Margarita promises to be full of flavour.
Ingredients
• 1 ½ shots Sauza Blanco Tequila
• ½ shot Bols Strawberry
• 1 shot fresh lime juice
• 3 strawberries
• 3 basil leaves
Add all the ingredients into a clean shaker. Muddle gently together to release the juices. Fill shaker with cubed ice and shake vigorously for 12 seconds. Using a strainer, pour into a pre-chilled cocktail glass, garnish with a strawberry half and basil leaf. Enjoy.
Winter Berry Margarita
A different type of cocktail, if you want a change from the traditional festive tipples why not try a winter warmer Sauza Tequila cocktail.
Ingredients
• 1 shot Sauza Blanco Tequila
• 1 shot Bols Triple Sec Liqueur
• 1 shot fresh lime juice
• 2 barspoons gomme (sugar) syrup
• 2 fresh blackberries
• 3 fresh raspberries
• 4 fresh blueberries
Muddle all ingredients together in shaker, add cubed ice and shake for 12 seconds, strain over fresh cubed ice in short glass
