Silvena Rowe to open Quince at the May Fair this Spring

This spring, food writer and TV chef Silvena Rowe Brings her own unique style of Eastern Mediterranean cooking to London’s five-star Mayfair hotel. The new restaurant which will be named Quince at the May Fair, will feature a menu that draws on Rowes wealth of experience in Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and will be inspired by everything from ancient Ottoman banquets to modern-day Syrian spice markets.

Chabrot restuarant opens in Knightsbridge

Chabrot, an intimate 65 cover restaurant across two floors, is reminiscent of a classic French bistro in design, offering a menu of dishes from across Southern France. Chabrot is in fact a traditional Dordogne/Charente ritual which became increasingly popular during the food shortages in the 2nd world war. Wine is poured into the dregs of a soup bowl for a final mouthful

Polpo Cicheti

The Polpo Cicheti Bar is planned to open on 8th February 2011 and will be located on the lower ground floor at Polpo. The Polpo Cicheti Bar will be a place for a pre/post-dinner drink or a light cicheti snack accompanied by an ‘ombra’, in the true Venetian style.

What a load of waffle

Wafflemeister’s 50s-themed waffle store is designed to evoke the rock ‘n’ roll revolution of that decade (although that has yet to reach Belgium) and is echoed in the decor with leather finishes and chrome accents.
