To help you recover from holiday spending, many London restaurants have cut their prices so you don’t have to cut dining out from your budget. Carluccio’s new fixed-price menu offers two courses of genuine, regional Italian cuisine for just £8.50.

To start with, choose from insalata mista (mixed salad with baby gem lettuce, peppers, tomato and red onion) or a savoury bread tin, and follow with any Carluccio’s pasta dish. Favourites includepenne giardiniera (Pugliese penne with courgette, chilli, and deep fried spinach balls with parmesan and garlic), and linguine ai fruitti di mare (linguini pasta with squid rings, mussels and prawns with garlic, herbs and chilli). You’ll get all this and a coffee for just £8.50.

If you fancy topping your meal off with a bit of tipple, you can upgrade to include a large glass of wine for just £3 extra.

The January fixed-price menu will run between 1 January 2009 and 13 February 2009. The fixed-price menu is £8.50 for a starter (insalata mista or savoury bread tin), a pasta dish and a coffee (cappuccino, latter or espresso).
