From June 16th – July 26th 2009, Morgan M restaurant in Islington will be celebrating the start of summer with a festival, giving diners the opportunity to sample one of chef patron Morgan Meunier’s signature six-course tasting menus together with wine for £100 for two people.

Morgan M is renowned for its modern French menu featuring delicate flavours created from luxury French ingredients. Many diners opt for a six-course set menu; ‘The Menu” or ‘From the Garden”, catering for vegetarians and these are the options included during the summer festival.

Dishes change seasonally and late spring/early summer is one of Morgan’s favourites as it allows him to utilise the abundance of ripe vegetables and fruits. Highlights of the summer festival menu include chilled gazpacho with tomato and olive oil sorbet; new season lamb, the shoulder confit, the rack roasted with artichoke and courgette and Barigoule sauce; seared fillet of red mullet with braised fennel, saffron and lemon broth; and apricot soufflé with rosemary and olive oil ice cream and apricot coulis.

The summer festival menu also includes a bottle of French wine between two and diners can select by colour. The white choice features a superb, dry wine, Le Lesc 2008 from Gascony.

‘This is the first time we have packaged our tasting menus in this way,” explains Morgan, ‘and we hope that diners will take advantage of this exciting and excellent value way to come and experience the restaurant.”

Morgan M’s dining room provides a warm atmosphere with wood panelling and plush burgundy walls contrasting well with the comfortable, green dining chairs. The restaurant is light and airy, benefiting from large windows throughout.

The summer festival is available throughout the week (June 16th – July 26th) except on Saturdays and includes Bastille Day (July 14th). Diners wishing to book must quote ‘summer festival” when booking. Morgan M is open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday from 7pm to 10pm, and for lunch Wednesday to Sunday (closed Saturday) from 12 noon to 3pm.
